Nothing against the writing, because it was lovely, but this book was not my vibe. I tried to read it 8 seperate times. It was long, boring , confusing with little payoff...for me

If I explained this book it would honestly sound ridiculous, but trust me it was a great read
Since I liked the sbow so much I just had to give the series a go
Disclaimer...I'm not here for politics...so anyone ranting politics I'll delete and move on.
That said , this book examines a time when Nazi propaganda crossed paths with segregationist ideology to create a moment in American history.
If you're a bit of a history buff I suggest giving this a read. It certainly has parallels seen in today's political climate.
While I do love a good story spun from an existing tale I tend to be highly critical of anything scary, spooky and suspenseful. I'm downright difficult to please, but I've been lucking out and finding some great creepy books...and this is tale fights right on that list. I'd easily give it all the stars
Finally got around to reading this and it was as good as I had expected
My God was this book good...a haunted who done it. It wasn't scary, but it was creepy and I enjoyed every second I spent in this story
Again, I don't know how to rate this book....at it's heart it's a queer love story ,that's a fun, entertaining gorefest that's easy to read. The plot holes though are so preposterous that it legitimately takes you out of the story to marvel at the stupidity of them.
I honestly don't know how to rate this book. It was an easy read and a good story....right up to the big reveal. Which is hands down 1 of the dumbest things I ever read. I would have bailed if there weren't just 2 chapters left and surely that wasn't the real ending...it was. 🤦♀️
I liked this way more than I expected to. It was a clever and entertaining story with wonderful characters.
I loved this book....it took a bit to get into it at first, but I was hooked by the 3rd chapter.
2 women run away to NYC, one ends ups murdered & the other discovers her body. What follows is such a creative twist on a familiar story, with characters you come to love.
If your family doesn't find 1 of the remaining JC Penny photo studios just so they can recreate peak 90's cheesy , cringe portraits as a Christmas gift ....do they even love you 🤷♀️🤷♀️l
I didn't care for the experimenting on dog parts (and skimmed over them), but other than that it was a great piece of storytelling that hooked me from the start, had some twists and was a quick read.
DISCLAIMER....the abusive relationship is difficult to read at times.
Does anyone else view certain authors or those beloved ,well worn books as comforting as a grilled cheese, bowl of soup or hot chocolate on a cold winters day?
Jennifer Weiner is 1 of many Authors who's characters and stories leave me feeling comforted & familiar
I'm just tired of Christians & their weird obsession with people's sex lives & the grandiose delusions that they're in any position to judge a fucking thing. 《Dramtic sigh》 The world would be such a better place without them 🤷♀️🤷♀️
I actually loved this book. It hooked me quickly , connected me to the characters, had a twist I didn't see coming and fit perfectly into spooky season. Definitely recommend
Did you know that you can modify spinach & artichoke dip into a pasta sauce.......welcome
I'm such a horror snob. I'm overly critical and am rarely ever completely happy. I'm usually most disappointed by the ending. This book had a great wind up & it was a fast and compelling read....but the big reveal and ending left me disappointed. But, if you aren't as damn critical & demanding with horror stories you'll probably love it
I found a recipe for chicken dumplin soup...amazing
Found an amazing small bookstore by lake george NY
I used to be a fan of Nicholas Sparks & then his stories became extremely predictable. Despite finding out he was kinda a piece of shit it didn't ruin the stories I loved....but this book was just a never-ending stream of meah. I won't call it unreadable ,it just wasn't very good.
My daughter got the part
I finally picked this up and couldn't put it down.
I'm not sure why but YA books have been the only one's I've enjoyed lately. Adult novels are almost routinely overly wordy, pretentious or predictable and some I can barely finish. This book had a great story, pacing and lovable characters
I really hate it when I book has an interesting story and a unique concept & I can't finish it. I wanted to like it, I tried to like it...but when it was still hard to get into at page 200 I had to bail. The book is over 500 pages & it was just too much. Overly descriptive & overly worded chapters just made it hard to connect.
Again, another book I did not expect to enjoy. Yet, I was completely caught up in the story and the characters. Not to mention a tear inducing cat scene
I wispered "WTF" multiple times reading this book...in the best ways. It was gross, uncomfortable and an overall emotional confusion
I didn't expect it to be this good, or to enjoy it as much as I did...despite a not so shocking twist the book was captivating
Meh...cliched and predictable, but well written
2 weeks of waterside reading spots makes returning to homework almost cruel....just sayin
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great...just meh
If you love 80's horror & the nostalgia of a Gen X childhood then this book is a no-brainer. The characters will remind you of someone from high school, the scenes are horrifically groas & man the sound track would be killer. Personally love how every chapter is a song title
This book is a love letter to 80's Horror
Another day, another spot, another book
While I definitely figured out where the book was going I didn't get all the twists. The writing, characters & storyline all make it a book worth your time.
My entire vacation is simply favorite reading spots & all the time to read
The novel within a novel really adds to the twist.
Last week my dogs ran out and jumped into my mailmans truck...today it let me know that he hasn't forgotten
The single best thing about coming out of the closet is that nobody can insult you by telling you what you've just told them......Rachel Maddow
Happy Pride
Honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did , but it was a great twist on the story of Sleepy Hollow.
