For everyone protesting tomorrow please be safe, please be smart, please keep your eyes peeled and aware of your surroundings. I know I'm not the only person hearing rumors of agitators and disruptors
...dont let them scare you into sitting out. Signs are done a we are ready
I grabbed this book on a whim at the grocery store for something to read on the beach and it was such a good read.
You are so wrapped up in the characters that you don't realize how well the author has layered in dynamics of systems in this country and how society views who is and isn't deserving of compassion, dignity & chances. The characters are so unlikable, but incredibly fascinating with a surprise ending you never saw coming. Read it!
Books on the beach are always 10 stars
No....girl, say less
Zero stars
I don't know how I feel about the tally marks for my anniversary gift 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Do I love it or is it too waiting for release ??
Weird ,but my post about buying this book that details just how much of a piece of garbage Zuckerberg is keeps getting taken off my Instagram......can't wait to read
Officially the smallest grilled cheeses I've ever helped make
Enough said
The witch museum looks amazing from here
To be fair I do not know how I feel about this book. It was so much, everywhere, with everyone. While I applaud some of the twists, because I almost always see them coming &while I saw some coming others smacked me in the face.
My issue is that I had no character to root for. There is always the character I support and the 1 I hate and this book robbed me of that. I need to not root for a psycho & I need the character POV to be honest. Who knew
I must confess after watching the movie Practical Magic I found the Aunts more interesting than Sally & Gillian and this entire series proved to be such a satisfying story of them. They were in 3 of the 4 books and for me stole the show.
While the 1st book gave the history of the Owen's family curse this book ended the saga with how they removed the curse.
I will miss reading about my Franny & Jet
With his new song dedicated to Hitler, it seemed a relevant time to remind everyone what Nazi's really are
There is no joy watching every predicted fear come true , there is no smug condescension in saying I told you so as this regime proves that us "overdramatic, doomsday, ridiculous people " were right.
I pray that enough people can and do fight back to stop it quickly.
I spent mother's days picking asparagus & watching The Secret of NIHM with the family. In this moment of fear, violence and uncertainty finding joy is more than an act of resistance, it how we survive this. I hope all my mothers out there had an amazing day.
I hope everyone who doesn't celebrate mothers day gave themselves the gift of small joys and self celebration.
Unless you support Trump, then I hope your day was garbage
I celebrated another trip around the sun with my family getting tattooed together
I have to say the book is very different from the movie, that I adored and inspired me reading the whole series. That being said, it was ok , but has to be my least favorite book in the series so far....just 1 more left
I was obsessed with the aunts from practical magic , and the 2nd book in the series gives you the life and history of the Aunts and it did not disappoint. By far my favorite of the series fo far

I know I can't change the world, but I can show up at the protest, write a check, vote and use my platforms...even if only 4 people see it.

Great characters, great writing, good story....it had a little too many elements to it and dragged on just a wee bit...but overall a good book and time well spent
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that when the secretary of health is talking about "curing " something that is hereditary, not curable & not a disease while saying that it destroys families and anyone with it can not contribute to the economy.......that's eugenics
Living through the MAGA movement necessitates and important reminder:
You don't have to be nice or consider the feelings of shitty people
That is all
While not a fan of the Catholic Church, or organized religion , I recognize and respect how Pope Francis was different. From his stance on climate change, renouncing immigration policies, looking to become more inclusive as well as rejecting the wealth of the papal position & apologizing for past sins of the church & trying to be better.
But, I will forever applaud his last official act being a graceful fuck off to Vance & this administration
It's a 4/20 Easter so praise it & blaze it
On a scale of 1-10 how unhinged is it to send screen shots of every article discussing the thing you were labeled "over dramatic or ridiculous " for believing to the people who labeled you that?
I just found out that the movie I loved back in the day, Practical Magic, was book 3 in a series.....so I just had to
Can you guess what I did this cold and rainy day
StromThurmond read from a phone book. Ted Cruz read Green Eggs and Ham. Cory Booker spoke passionately for over 25 hours on the danger this country is facing. If you think this was a performance you‘re a moron
I get why it was marked down...this book was a hard pass . Halway through I didn't give a damn about what happened next or who did it
It was a little overly worded, which is a mood killer for me, but it was a great story. The aspects of race and racism were so well weaved into the story they felt like it's own character
I think I'm going to just isolate at home with my books
I'm sorry for all the doom posts, but I'm having a difficult time handling the onslaught of fear, uncertainty and unmitigated rage at the state of the world and the people making it happen. These simple posts help me process that
Found out how to create my own "Little Free Library " in my community....thinking I should do it & customer make it as a banned book library
Today marked the start of me buying all the books on this list...I bought 4 and they were all paperback. Maybe it's paranoia, but I need the physical copies ...for my kids or grandkids some day
I don't know how to rate this book, there were some good parts to it, some parts I enjoyed and then there were headscratching moments, painfully dull moments and outright nerve picking moments.
Any author who doesn't genuinely understand privilege, sexism, appropriation or any other social constructs is better off not discussing them. The instances of sounding flippant & ignorant just gave secondhand cringe.
