The Alphabet's Alphabet
The Alphabet's Alphabet | Chris Harris
14 posts | 2 read
For fans of P is for Pterodactyl comes this groundbreaking spin on the ABCs from an acclaimed bestselling author and artist duo! Here's a totally twisted take on the alphabet that invites readers to look at it in a whole new way: An A is an H that just won't stand up right, a B is a D with its belt on too tight, and a Z is an L in a tug-of-war fight! Twenty-six letters, unique from each other -- and yet, every letter looks just like one another! Kind of like...one big family. From two bestselling masters of wordplay and visual high jinks comes a mind-bending riddle of delightful doppelgngers and surprising disguises that reveal we're more alike than we may think. You'll never look at the alphabet the same way again!

There‘s stacks of books everywhere and my office feels like chaos, but I‘m feeling a little proud of my progress. I‘ve reorganized all my books, including my paperbacks.

Next up is to continue reading all the books synopsis, deciding if they‘re something I‘m still interested in. If I‘m on the fence, I‘ll just jump into the first couple of the chapters before I decide if I want to keep or donate. I‘m halfway thru books starting with A.😅

Clwojick Still trying to figure out how all those books fit on these two bookcases. I‘m definitely going to have to unshelf some.😅😅😅😅 13mo
Coueriamb Amazing work so far! Inspo for cleaning up my own book piles all over the floor lol 13mo
Clwojick @Coueriamb Thanks! It‘s been quite the project, but I know I‘m going to feel so much better when I know my shelves are only full of books I‘m genuinely intrigued by. Maybe it will finally get me picking from my personal collection instead of impulse reading from the library or Scribd. 😅 (edited) 13mo
jamield1911 Wowww 😍 can I come and live in this room, please? 🤣 13mo
Clwojick @jamield1993 You‘re welcome anytime, so long as you‘re okay with cat hair and a pug without any manners 😂😂😂 13mo

A couple years ago for my MN teaching licence I did a one day seminar of children's literacy. The idea was to read a set of books, write about how they could be used in the classroom, and attend one day of discussion on the books and literacy. The library that I originally attended through (for 2 years) discontinued the program, but another one does a similar program.

cwarnier I don't do the write up or attend the event, but love seeing what is new in children's literacy. I especially love that there are different levels (early literacy, grades 2-4, 5-9 & HS). I am starting with the EC list and possibly working up.
So far this list has been top notch. “See the Cat“ was a bit strange, but serves the purpose of an early reader.
