How to Walk Away
How to Walk Away | Katherine Center
From the author of Happiness for Beginners comes an unforgettable love story about finding joy even in the darkest of circumstances. Margaret Jacobsen has a bright future ahead of her: a fianc she adores, her dream job, and the promise of a picture-perfect life just around the corner. Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in one tumultuous moment . In the hospital and forced to face the possibility that nothing will ever be the same again, Margaret must figure out how to move forward on her own terms while facing long-held family secrets, devastating heartbreak, and the idea that love might find her in the last place she would ever expect. How to Walk Away is Katherine Center at her very best: an utterly charming, hopeful, and romantic novel that will capture readers hearts with every page. Praise for How to Walk Away: "A heartbreak of a novel that celebrates resilience and strength." Jill Santopolo, bestselling author of The Light We Lost "If you just read one book this year, read How to Walk Away." Nina George, New York Times bestselling author of The Little Paris Bookshop "Warm, witty, and wonderfully observed." Emily Giffin, New York Times bestselling author of First Comes Love "Sympathetic and refreshing!" Elinor Lipman, bestselling author of The Family Man "I can't think of a blurb good enough for this novel...poignant, funny, heartbreaking." Jenny Lawson, bestselling author of Furiously Happy

Loved this story! Really unique perspective of a young woman putting her life back together after a tragic accident.

marleed I recently read and liked this. Similar in concept but different take is the book, Maybe in Another Life by TJ Reid. I really liked that one too. Have you read it? 16h

I could not stop listening to this audiobook! Usually if I‘m not doing something active I have to stop listening. I could not put this down!

This is going to sound huge, but me listening to this audiobook is the equivalent of me listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks for the first time! I JUST COULDN‘T STOP!

Katherine Center is definitely now one of my go to must read authors! Both the books I‘ve read were great!

I've been using audiobooks to help catch up on all the reading I missed out on during the first half of the year due to my MASSIVE slump. Listen to something in the car, and pick up something entirely different at night (I'm usually a 1-book-at-a-time gal, so this has been a great, but rewarding, reading challenge for me!). Loving this performance so far, which is usually a good sign 👍

Finished this book of my sister‘s while vacationing with her on the Cape. Sweet, well drawn characters- perfect beach read.I did not realize until I read about the author that her next book, Things You Save in a Fire, has the female fire fighter who is part of the rescue team at the crash site in How To Walk Away. Moving that book up to top of My TBR.

I‘m a sucker for happy endings & quotes. And this book delivered. I couldn‘t put it down. Here are a couple more quotes:

“You can‘t fix everything. But you can look for reasons to be grateful. More than that, you can work to create them.”

“The crash . . . shattered the life I had, but the pieces wound up making a pretty good mosaic. That‘s what art is . . . transforming things from what they were into what they could be.”

A plane crash shatters Margaret‘s world. Her sister Kitty and a Scottish physical therapist named Ian try to help her put it back together. A bit cheesy, but an easy read. If felt like an upbeat version of Me Before You.

What a beautiful surprise! This books is like a full movie drama with well developed characters, funny moments, and serious implications and challenges. It deals with disability and trauma in an authentic way, while still providing some excitement from family drama and romance. For fans of Christina Lauren, Sarah Jio, etc.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5 Stars. I really enjoyed this light read, but felt it lacked just a teeny tiny bit to give it a full 4 stars. Not enough character development, I think. That being said, it had me smiling and laughing while also feeling the pain and sadness she was experiencing too.

Even though I found this story to be entirely predictable, I loved how it unfolded. The author does an amazing job of walking the line between heartbreaking and hopeful as she tells the story of Maggie learning to put her life together after a horrific event that forces her to find her new normal. I thought all the characters in this book had a different voice and were very well developed. Easy and enjoyable read!

I usually stick with thrillers and mysteries but I heard so many good things about this I decided to read it. And wow. You‘ll love some of the characters, and you‘ll strongly dislike others. And some of the ones you diskliked in the beginning may surprise you by the end. This is a book about a girl who experiences a life altering event and her world is upside down. This book is about second chances, adapting to changes, and resiliency. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
