This is the second book in the Nevernight Trilogy & it was really good. In this one Mia decides her best way to get to Scaeva & Cardinal Duomo is to sell herself to become one of the gladiatii (think Roman gladiators) & then become the champion of the games 🖤

This is a binge-read book, there is so much happening & many thrilling action chapters that I devoured the last two parts. The first part was a little slow as there is lots of back & forth as to why Mia is a slave training to be a gladiatii. But once the scene is set, you are whisked off on a blood drenched, gore dripping story as Mia steps ever closer to her goal of ending Scaeva & Duomo. Love alt book covers & fan art, need more for this series
I have no words to describe my I‘m love for this series! The brutality, the emotions, the unpredictability of it all and the absolute badass Mia Covere is all perfection! Book 3, bring it!
I really liked this middle one it had so much intrigue and excitement. I can't wait to finish the last one even though I know it's going to break my heart. Again the sarcasm could be turned down to 10% to make this a five stars for me but otherwise great story telling! 😀
Got my #bookspin pick for August finished up today. I'm really unsure how I feel about Kristoff's books. Some I hate, some I love, then there is this series that falls just in the middle. I did enjoy this more than Nevernight but I still don't really get it. 🤷♀️

Had a beach weekend and missed out on getting my #bookspinbingo list done 😱 But I came up with something at work this morning. I managed 18 books in July so let's see if I can get a good amount checked off in August!

This just keeps getting better and better. The only complaint I have is that Darkdawn haven't arrived in the mail yet😭
Yikes. This is the second book in The Nevernight Chronicles and not for the faint of heart. Definitely a MA (mature audience) rating 😂 I was losing a bit of momentum midway through but I don't feel like I have any choice but to pick up the third book now. Whoah. ⭐⭐⭐.5
After absolutely devouring #Godsgrave last night, I absolutely filled my #readinglog with the brilliantness of it all.
I cant wait to start #Darkdawn tonight 😫 bring on bedtime 🕗🌛📖📚
Got my favorite #readingchocolate with me tonight. About half way through the book and it's getting so brilliant!

Finished #rereading #Nevernight, starting this gem tonight! Love how the blue matches my sofa ??
Update on the #readingglasses too, got some coming next week! But straight after my opticians appointment I blooming scratched my inner eyelid, still, I shall persevere through my #tbrpile
"I am steel" - Mia Corvere
Really don't know why I held off reading this series. It's so much better than I expected.
Those last 100 or so pages made the entire build-up so worth it! I'm glad I got some theories right, and that the book ends on just an avalanche of things happening. I thought some of the story was repetitive, which I suppose reflects the goal of the main character, but it does take away from how 'fast' the story is. I didn't think there was going to be some lgbt rep in this, so I was pleasantly surprised, but sad it didn't end so well.
Let‘s do a review. It feels like it has been a minute. I am excited to tell you guys my thoughts on Godsgrave. I completely loved it. Definitely a five star read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

—love my new mug!
I really struggle with this trilogy, but at the same time I can't stop reading them. I love the world. I hate the footnotes. I love the writing style. I hate the excessive descriptions. I get near the end and tell myself I'm not going to read the last book, then it ends with a ridiculous cliffhanger and I immediately put the next book on hold at the library. Not for everyone but kristoff definitely knows how to keep readers turning pages.
It's the #24B4Monday #readathon and I've finished my first book.
Without spoiling the content,... This has Middle Book Syndrome. The first in the series was good. The second has too many predictable plot twists. I'm off to read the third now.
3.5 stars.

Flowers/plants for @Cathythoughts - it was two plants last year. I'm trying to pluck the dead flowers before they can shed seeds.
this is one helluva sequel...Kristoff took much of the basic plot setups from the 1st book and turned it on its head, for the better. there's a lot of twists that reframe much of the current story and I'm excited (and slightly concerned) about how everything will wrap up in the final book. there's a bit of a slow start (similar to the first title) but once you get over the initial hump it's a wild ride.
Next up! I have to say I don't care for the footnotes in these books but I'm still curious to see the story play out.
Enjoying what‘s left of the evening outside. It‘s so nice out.
This is the second in the Nevernight trilogy. It continues the story of Mia Covere and her need for revenge for her family. It was quite brutal to be honest and the fighting scenes reminded me of the Hungar Games. Anyway I will read the final book. It is not one of my favorite series though. #bookseries
Books I received from my lovely friend Elisa! #tbr
OMG OMG OMG OMG! This book was a lot better than the first one because the same characters from the first one become more developed and change in a way that was not expected at all. The book was full of twists and turns that make me curse in anger and yell in triumph. Mia is such a complex character and Jay Kristoff is a master when it comes to surprising the reader. I can‘t wait to read the next one!

Just can't do constant fighting, murder, and distrust this week. . . I will be coming back to this one and the fierce Mia Corvere someday though! 😢

BOOKS I READ IN FEBRUARY
FAVOURITE: Goodsgrave, just like the first book in the series, this one is packed with action, amazing characters... and the ending is amazing!
LEAST FAVOURITE: A Million Worlds With You, I was honestly dissapointed with the end of the series. In the end the plot twist felt stupid (I almost never use such words in connection to books but here I can't really help it).
Jumping into book two of the Nevernight series and so excited to see this! I love it when a novel begins with a map! This one has three! 😍

1) have to admit, can't believe January is over already. It just flew by, I had so many things I wanted to finish/get done before the end of the month. Oh well, there's always February.
2) Nevernight by Jay Kristoff - I read a lot of So-So and Pan books. My reading year can only improve.
3) easy, I want to finish the trilogy before my birthday (end of March)
This author is worse than George R.R. Martin when it comes to killing off characters you love, fair warning. The ending was epic! This book had excellent character development, great plot twists throughout, gratuitously gory gladiator scenes, and steamy, graphic sex scenes. It was perfection. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
1. Godsgrave (The Nevernight Chronicle #2), Confessions of a Funeral Director, The Passage by Justin Cronin
2. Spellhacker by M.K. England (comes out in January)
3. The Kitchen God's Wife by Amy Tan (been on my shelf forever, poor book)
