I love Douglas's writing style and how she develops the characters. This book certainly fits in that description of great plot and characters. My only miff with this one is the ending dragged. There was a point about 7/8 thru that would have made a better ending. Still enjoyed despite this. 4🌟 #Read2025 @DieAReader
April 28, 2025 ooooo things are getting steamy. So far so GOOD. Scarlett has shared that she likes and has feelings for Lukas. Lukas Penolope also told Scarlett the truth that she was the one who initiated the breakup between her a Lukas because she felt there was no chemistry and no sex. Now she is with another guy and she is enjoying that relationship.
so-soThis is the second book in the Mayhem series and I was expecting another great story since I enjoyed the first one. Unfortunately, this one fell flat for me. Both of the MCs acted immature for their ages and they annoyed me. Not sure if I will continue this series. 2.5 - 3🌟

pickIn the last couple of weeks, I blew through this series. Pretty tough in parts, it is set in Ireland and follows young adults dealing with pretty difficult situations, physical and mental abuse in the home, bullying, and the financial challenges that existed in the late 2000s. Walsh writes with an intensity that kept me reading, even though most of these are 600 pages or more. Waiting in the next one to become available at my library :)
April 25, 2025 I have not been constantly picking up the book because life is life, but I have been enjoying the book thus far. I hope to finish this soon or by the end of May (before summer) and then choose my next TBR. Not sure which one I will read next: The Chinese Groove by Kathryn Ma or something else...
pickI normally zip through Douglas's books. In this one, I reached a point where I guessed what was going to happen and I couldn't finish. Therefore, I put the book down and picked it up again a couple of days ago. No surprises. Just as expected. pickI don‘t understand why some reviewers said this was just okay… I really love reading Ali Hazelwood‘s books because they are not just romance but have substance which makes you think and understand different points of view. I really loved this and will always purchase her books as they are always beautifully written
