The last Dublin murder squad series is a twisty story in which a bit part character takes centre stage. Antoinette Conway, a woman of colour, is disliked by her colleagues except for her partner Steve. When they are allocated the murder of a woman in her flat, their boss has an older DS babysit them who appears to steer them off course. Is it Antoinettes's paranoia, or is the case set up for her fall? Great storytelling in a great series.

Finishing my first Tana French book, The Trespasser. It‘s really good! Kept me hooked.

The final book in the #DublinMurderSquad series by Tana French. It wasn‘t the best in the series; the writing could have been better, but it still had the shock value. Overall, I would definitely recommend this series. It‘s great storytelling, for the most part, and a change-up in how to write a series. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

Being on the Murder Squad is nothing like Detective Antoinette Conway thought. Her partner, Stephen Moran, is the only person who seems glad she‘s there. Antoinette is savagely tough, but she‘s getting close to the breaking point. Their new case looks like another lovers‘ quarrel gone bad. Aislinn Murray is blond, pretty and dead in her living room, next to a table set for a romantic dinner. The thing is, Antoinette‘s seen her somewhere before.

I‘m a little sad to have finished the Murder Squad series… absolutely loved all the books in the series! Love getting to know a different D with each book!

I was in the mood for a good police procedural and this sixth book in the Dublin Murder Squad series really delivered. This one is right up there with Broken Harbor for my favorite DMS. Also enjoyed Faithful Place quite a bit. Nice to get a #BOTM pick from 2016 off my TBR!

I am sad that this seems to be the end of the Dublin Murder Squad series. I read all of them back-to-back and now I feel kind of lost that I don‘t have another. Might be an unpopular opinion, but this may have been my least favorite of the series. Didn‘t dislike it at all — just liked it less than the others. Tana French has definitely become one of my favorite crime authors.

I really like Tana French mysteries. They are slow, a lot of dialogue and descriptions with surprising and very thought-provoking endings.

After not loving the last book in the series as much as its predecessors I was completely glued to this one. Antoinette is the lead detective in what first appears to be an open and shut case but as she and her partner look deeper the likely suspect just doesn‘t feel right. Antoinette is bristly and paranoid and the exact kind of protagonist that French does so well. Why aren‘t there more Dublin Murder Squad books in the world for me to consume?

A young woman is murdered and the investigation starts to focus quickly, but there are behind the scenes shenanigans going on. Are some of the cops trying to get rid of one of the detectives? Or is something else going on? I really liked the layering of the story in this one as well as the pacing. I did struggle with the MC at times—she‘s complicated, which I love, but can be disdainful and judgmental of people in a way that‘s a real turn off.

Why am I surprised every time Tana French looks like she‘s wrapping up but then a giant wrench comes crashing down & changes everything? EVERY SINGLE TIME. When evidence was found that pointed to one person, I was sure things were done. And then another wrench came crashing down. And then that one maybe went away? Or maybe the first one did? Or maybe it wasn't a wrench but a hammer? All I know is I couldn't put this down for the last 100 pages.

Ahhh... We‘re finally in that window when it‘s perfect weather to eat breakfast outside!!

Tana French has delivered another immersive read which is quite impossible to put down. I am not as enthusiastic about this as the others in the Dublin Murder Squad series, yet it‘s very good in portraying a flawed, vulnerable detective as a protagonist. I admire French‘s flair in telling the story, & here she highlights the victim‘s story as well - someone as complex as the protagonist. Very good read with intense dialogues and interview scenes.

April showers bring May flowers? I hope May will be a better reading month. These are my plans 👆🤞. I have started the tagged book, it‘s great to be back in the Dublin Murder Squad. Two books for #AuthorAMonth . One for #FurrowedMiddlebrowClub . Emma for #PemberLittens ... gotta read 3 chapters to play catch-up.

Listening to the tagged book on my break and looking at this pretty tree outside my car window. One thing I am not enjoying about this book on audio is the chapters aren‘t all in one part. Most of the time the chapter will end in the next part of the audiobook. I normally use the parts as breaks for stopping points because the chapters normally end then.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What can I say - I love how Tana French tells stories. The best way to read this one is to just take a couple days and spend them with the book. Too many breaks will take away from it. It is of course a murder mystery. I found myself suspicious of so many of the character along the way, which I‘m sure was the intention. The somewhat unreliable narrator had a lot to do with it. Loved it 🖤

I love how Tana French‘s characters manipulate each other (or at least try to) and how they keep on crossing the line, stepping right over it and leaving it behind! 😆

I think I need some Tana French 📚 in my life right now. Going to read this one next. I got it from @cobwebmoth a couple months back as part of a swap 😊 Can‘t wait to get into it!!! 😁

#2 in #24in48. - reread The Trespasser. I enjoyed it more this time: possibly because I was more in mind to pay attention to it.

Definitely French‘s best since The Likeness and for many of the same reasons—she‘s after saying something legit and true ^ . (And yes, the voice is so clear and so compelling it creeps into your own, at least while you‘re reading 😍) Five ⭐️!

Enjoyable detective story but I have questions. If you have read this please check the comments for my questions.

The best of French so far. Amazing. A real rollercoaster of “if”s and suppositions. Crime at its best. You could jump into the Dublin Murder Squad right here if you wanted, but do read this book.

Another excellent book in the Dublin Murder Squad series. Conway may be a tough narrator to spend time with, like Frank Mackey, but seeing where she's coming from is illuminating. I liked her partnership with Moran, and the dialogue, and the constant guessing (I kept changing my mind about who was right).

That‘s all six down then. Ages since I have forged on a series. This felt weaker than earlier outings and the protagonist is harder to like than some of the others but altogether well written. (In #fbc news I have walked miles around the office today but forgot my Fitbit!) May manually add what my phone says !

Another really good book in the series! I also really like the audios of these. I haven‘t listened to them all, but I have for many of them, and they are always done really well. I like the Irish accent, too. I also always enjoy the personal stories of the detectives in these books. I was always kept wanting to read more, to find out how things were going to unfold. Really enjoyed this one!

Finished this yesterday while home sick with a fever. I accidentally skipped the book before this one in the series, but didn‘t realize until I was already well into it.

Tana French creates absorbing plots and fascinating characters, and The Trespasser is no exception — I sped through the second half of the book in one sitting.

Did a little #audioshoveling tonight with the comparatively modest amount of snow my part of the state got. I picked up tagged book for #Booked2019 lady detective prompt since @CaseyTheCanadianLesbrarian said tantalizing things about it. It‘s the sixth book in the series but after sampling a minute of the first I skipped to this one.

I love Tana French‘s Dublin Murder Squad series. This one features Detective Antoinette Conway as she tries to solve a murder that seems predictable at first, but soon spirals out of control. Conway is tough but always on her guard as the only female murder detective. She has to be, especially when she notices a strange man hanging around her house at night, watching her...

This is truly a fantastic book. Wonderful nuanced characterization of a salty, cynical, flawed, smart woman detective Antoinette (I just loved her voice) combined with a fascinating, expertly plotted and paced crime story. I loved how preoccupied the narrative was with stories: the stories we tell ourselves about our lives and the stories detectives construct when investigating. Excellent voice acting in the #audiobook. #Mystery

While not my favorite of Tana French's Dublin Murder Squad, I still enjoyed this one.

This is a fantastic #audiobook so far. Amazing characterization and voice acting. #AwesomeAudiobooks
