After a divorce, Cal Hooper decides to move to an Irish village. A local kid's brother is missing & he asks Cal to help find him. Cal discovers darkness and secrets.
This is an atmospheric psychological tale but not much of a mystery. The story is slow getting started but French's prose is spellbinding. The characters are well-developed but I do miss the Dublin Murder Squad. I would sum up this book as not one of her best but still worth a read.

Ahhhh a new #TanaFrench book is coming out this year!! Another stand-alone. I‘ve read the first four in the Dublin Murder Squad series. I still have to read The Secret Place, The Trespasser, and her stand-alone The Witch Elm!

I started The Secret Place a long time ago but didn‘t finish it, so I‘d have to start over from the beginning. Hopefully I can find my copy. That‘d be something good to read during this time. 3y

CafeMom I read this one way back. I remember the book being all about the journey and not the destination. I think I was the only one in my book club that liked it. I haven't read another one of her books. 3y

Finished this yesterday while home sick with a fever. I accidentally skipped the book before this one in the series, but didn‘t realize until I was already well into it.

Tana French creates absorbing plots and fascinating characters, and The Trespasser is no exception — I sped through the second half of the book in one sitting.
