#5JoysFriday
1. Saw the Thunderbolts/ New Avengers. It had really great depression rep. I've been having a hard time with my depression lately so I felt really seen. (The reason I haven't been super active on here)
2. I planted strawberries and snap peas
3. Finally got a membership to Costco
4. Rainbow drink from my local cafe
5. Croissants

AnnCrystal 🙏🫂💝💝💝💝💝. Have you tried watching/reading more comedies? Not a fix, yet perhaps it will lighten your depression???? 6mo

Catsandbooks @AnnCrystal That's pretty much all I watch. But even the funniest material is not going to fix my depression. That's just not how depression works. I can be laughing & smiling but still depressed. For me, my depression isn't being really sad, it's feeling numb & empty. Being utterly exhausted. Wanting to close my eyes & not deal with anything b/c life & the world feels so overwhelming. But I keep trying every day & that's what matters ❤️ 6mo
AnnCrystal @Catsandbooks that is what matters 😘🙏💝. 6mo
Catsandbooks @AnnCrystal thanks for the love and support! 🥰💕 6mo

Pickpick

Donny Cates concludes the definitive run on one of the best Marvel anti-heroes. Despite everything, in the end, he still feels like an outsider in the Marvel universe, which fits him just fine. He also lays the groundwork for Eddie Brock to pass on the mantle of Venom.

Pickpick

A massive cross-over event that sees the god of the symbiotes invade Earth. Eddie Brock/Venom is forced to reconcile with his place in the world and his role in saving it. Can he be a father to his son and a hero to the world, or is his violent path too much to put behind him? How can he rise to meet the King in Black when mutants and superheroes continue to fall to the void? Excellent storytelling and art.

Pickpick

As the threat of Knull grows, Cletus Kasady's corpse is reanimated by the Carnage symbiote. Lots of in-universe history that I don't have knowledge of, but it didn't really effect my ability to follow and enjoy the story. The tie-ins with the Venom comic were a little more integral, so I switched back and forth between this and Venom Vol. 3.

Venom was an early childhood favorite character of mine. My older brother was a Spider-Man fan, and he told me I looked like Venom with my braces (?), so I flipped it and became a fan 😅 This collection of Donny Cates' run introduces Knull and creates a lot of backstory for the symbiotes, while exploring the relationship between Eddie and Venom. Seems like a major source for the recent movies.

Mehso-so

I'm gradually making my way through Spider Gwen. In this particular arc, Gwen is exposed to the Venom symbiote for reasons that don't totally make sense. The final couple of issues set up the confrontation with Matt Murdock that Latour has been building toward. Latour depicts Gwen as kind of erratic, which I find odd.
