You know what? I actually enjoyed this one. It was not perfect but was actually hooked to the story. I liked Tana, Wolfe, Landon, and especially her dad. Her mom...not so much. Her mom somewhat redeemed herself towards the end, though. It would be interesting to read a book with the High Coven's perspective. 4 ⭐️

It was a fun light YA, but the characters didn‘t feel fully developed as they acted pretty inconsistently. It was a little all over the place. Luckily I was in the right mindset for it and didn‘t need something too heavy so it was an okay read for now. Read for #sundaybuddyread

My least favorite of hers. I like the world she made but Tana, on top of being immature & boring, was completely inconsistent she starts obtuse & frankly rude but suddenly she‘s adept at reading everyone‘s nuanced expressions & ultra empathetic. I wanted a bigger resolution for the New Coven. Looking forward to the #SundayBuddyRead finale discussion @TheBookHippie

I thrifted this figurine a couple years ago with the intention to make her a witch bear & finally got to it today while listening to the tagged book. I know a lot of people are reading this for #SundayBuddyRead with @TheBookHippie I‘m on chapter 16, man this MC is insufferable 😅 the cluelessness I was ok-ish with but she was so rude to Wolfe off the bat.

Truly a YA book.A light,fun,read in a month when I have read some books with heavy topics that have weighed on me (Hitler‘s People,Nazi Wives).So witches,covens,magic,connection to the sea,& nature was a welcome respite.Themes of forging your own path & not someone else‘s predetermined path for you (Tana‘s parents & coven),finding your true self, your life‘s choices-perfect for YA.Cover art,end papers are stunning! #trope #YA #sundaybuddyread

A good, witchy YA book that looks at right and wrong, duty and self-choice, and love and obligation. This took me through the emotions. Good read and good choice for #SundayBuddyRead !

This is a YA witch book that has a lot going for it; witches, water, fantastically beautiful imagery. Midway through it gets a bit too YA angst-y with the heavy handed adults basically forcing the main protagonist, Tana, to choose a path that goes against her true self, but like most YA there is a HEA. The author does a wonderful job championing the natural world which I love, her focus on the ocean in this one is ❤️❤️
