The second in this urban fantasy series picks up only a few months after the last one ended, and it was so easy to get lost in this world again. Bryce and Hunt and Ruhn are great, as are the many side characters. Still a little TOO reliant on the Danika trauma (at this point what was she not lying about??) but loved the additional world building. Also a crazy ending that had me yelling IRL. Can‘t wait to see what‘s next!

I really liked House of Sky and Breath and Something is Killing the Children

I really do enjoy myself Sarah J Maas novel. I cannot believe the way she ended this story and there is WAAAAAAYYYYY to much time before the next book with so much left unanswered.

I didn't enjoy this as much as the first in the series. For an 800 page book I felt there were so many sub-plots that felt thrown together and it resulted in the story feeling disjointed. Will I read the next book in the series when it's published? Yes. But I'm not waiting with bated breath.

Hmmmm. I think… that I don‘t like SJM in adult as much as I do in YA? The plot of this was excellent. But I found myself skipping past stuff that was just a bit… too much. For me. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I did appreciate that they‘d edited out some of the excessive f bombs which, IMO, were every second sentence at the end of the first book 😆 tiring. that ending though. 😵💀 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was fantastic. Sarah Maas does not disappoint and the ending had me nearly crying of joy. I dont want to spoil the ending but if you're contemplating reading this or getting into the Crescent City Series...this is your sign. Do it! You did it again Sarah and I am one happy girl with how everything "came together" at the end!

I read 19 books this month! Thanks to audiobooks and just having a lot of alone time.

11 were audiobooks! Now that it‘s nicer out and I can walk and run outside, I‘m doing little else.

Ok… does it take a while? Yes. Did I take breaks? Yes. Was I lost at times? Yes… UNTIL THE LAST 4 HOURS IF YOURE DOING AUDIOBOOK! Holy crap guys! I can‘t handle it. I was completely floored by it all and had my crazy, shocked (of course screaming) tears by the end. DO IT. DO IT. DO IT. Read it, persevere, and fall absolutely in love with SJM again and again. Hold this book to your chest and scream like me.

I‘m still plugging away at HOUSE OF SKY AND BREATH, and Casey‘s still sad it‘s so damned big. My hands are SORE, y‘all.

At first, I liked it heaps more than the first book. (It‘s got way fewer infodumps and redundant bits! Whee!) I‘m halfway through now, though, and I‘m starting to slip out of the narrative. It‘s slowed down, thanks in part to more repetition. That, together with the hand pain, makes it tough for me to want to pick it up. 😔

I started HOUSE OF SKY AND BREATH this morning, and Casey‘s bummed about how tough it is to hold. Casey‘s not the only one. I can only hope it‘s a relatively quick read so I won‘t have to endure the hand strain for too long.

This book is amazing! I will be honest. It took a while to get going. But when it did... Wow!! I love all of these characters. I cannot wait until the next book. I don't want to give anything away. But that ending was killer!!

So a lot of people online think that this is not as good as the first book, I actually disagree. I think this is better, Bryce‘s personality flourishes.

Took me a bit, but finally finished this chunkster.

This one had a lot more adventures and risk in it. I felt like the first one dragged, but this one didn‘t. Also, it took me a minute to understand the ending. It wasn‘t until I saw something on tiktok that I made the connection. (No spoilers)

Also, I heard on a podcast that depending on where you buy the book, you may have an extra scene or ending. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Can‘t wait for the next one!

So so many unexpected happenings in this book!! It all led up to some extremely shocking events and knowledge near the end of the book which makes the the anticipation of the third book all the more intense! A must read for Maas fans!

My boy had surgery yesterday. He had 5 teeth pulled and a mass removed in his ear. It was a rough night last night, he couldn‘t keep anything down 😔

But he‘s on the mend today and seems to be feeling better! So we are getting some cone snugs, while I dive into this book.

I got 50 pages into House of Sky and Breath before deciding I needed to at least skim through book one and refresh my memory... Is 10pm on a Tuesday the time to do that? Absolutely not. Am I doing it anyways? Of course I am. #DefinitelyGoingToRegretThisTomorrow

I liked this book, I know it's had some mixed reviews but for it was enjoyable. I loved their group of people. And I was completely unprepared for the ending. I wonder how she will continue now. It all very interesting.

Utterly fantastic.

Builds on the world and characters introduced in book 1 and impossibly raises the stakes and tensions even higher.

Funny and sexy at times but heartbreaking at others and always full of action.

The ending broke my heart, made my furious and delighted me all at once. Cannot wait for the next instalment.

I‘m up to page 593 out of 800. I am not surprised. Not at all.

Picks up soon after House of Earth & Blood. Bryce & Hunt have to decide if they will get involved in a new set of problems. Loved seeing old friends and new characters. Like all of Sarah Maas books, once I get in them, they are hard to put down.

Just finished this #chunkster on #audiobook. Wow, this was a ride. Book 2 of the Crescent City series. I liked book 1, but it was very heavy on world building so it was a bit of a slog. This was non-stop character development and action and I want book 3 now. 5⭐️

Today I bought my first book of 2022! Seems crazy! Finally found a copy in my town of this big door stopper. It‘s got me pretty excited since I loved book one. Hopefully this will lead me to the end of my slump!😄

Honestly, I'm probably just going to be picking up HOSAB because it's widely talked about and I've already picked up on a few spoilers that are going ruin this whole thing for me so I need to know how this plays out. If I manage to finish I'll know I have at least 20 hrs in...I'm only on chapter 20 so I have a LONG way to go!

I finished! I gave this 4 ⭐️. The 1st half was a little slow and a couple of the character viewpoints interested me less than the others. Not Ruhn's, I love Ruhn. I really like this world Maas has created. And that ending! Whew! Hopefully we don't have to wait too long to find out what happens next.

I was hoping to be a bit farther in this book by the final night of this three day weekend, but I made it to about 60% done. I'm enjoying it though and avoiding all the spoilers on TikTok.

You know I had to. Now, do I finish it now or wait a little? I survived the wait from the release of empire of storms to kingdom of ash in the throne of glass series and if this ends in a cliff hanger I‘m not sure my heart can survive that again 😂😬🤞
