Three Murderbot books in three days 🤖 I haven‘t felt like this about a series since I crushed those 20 Phryne Fishers in a month 😵‍💫 I wish there were 20 Murderbots! 🤓 in other news, my first batch of salad greens grew enough to harvest! Featured here gracing a leftover Mediterranean chickpea tagine tart with a drizzle of aioli 👩‍🍳

julesG Yummy! Also, yes for 20 Murderbot books. 1mo
EvieBee Yum! Also, Phryne is good like that! 1mo
BkClubCare Beautiful. And yes to the Murderbot ❤️ 1mo

SQUEEEEEE! @Mitch You are the best Easter Bunny! Every time someone posts about Murderbot, I think, “I really need to try these murderbot books. They sound like something I would love”. I think I own the first novella on Kindle, but I do not have this one! Off to rearrange my reading plans for May and find something to do with these super cute page flags. Thank you so much my friend! 💖🐰💖

Mitch You haven‘t read it! I‘d convinced myself you had! 🤣Enjoy sweetie! 1mo
DGRachel @Mitch I have not! I put holds on #1-4 from my library and should have them in a week or so and will be binging the series in May! Thank you so much! 😘 1mo

Here for it. On a murderbot rampage and cannot get enough. I think I prefer the novella length, maybe? Hard to say. This is a full length novel and I mean, when you love murderbot, you‘re fine with it right? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The other humans were listening on the comm so hard I could pick up their breathing. Thiago pretended not to listen, flashing his helmet light over the stations on the upper tier of the control area. Overse added, "Just remember you're not alone here." I never know what to say to that. I am actually alone in my head, and that's where 90 plus percent of my problems are.

I love Murderbot! This novel brings back Dr. Mensah‘s crew and ART— my fav characters. Lots of intrigue and cool fights, plus a very complicated relationship between Murderbot and ART. https://cannonballread.com/2022/01/network-effect-the-murderbot-diaries-elcicco/

And, of course, I loved it! I love Murderbot, and ART, and their developing relationship, and all the humans. I found the conclusion difficult to follow, but that may have more to do with being sick than the book—and the emotional aspects are certainly clear enough.

So much happens in the last quarter of this book, yikes! And I remembered only about half of it from my previous reread. I'd love to know more about the alien stuff...

I've slowed down with my reading again, blech. I think working/studying is really taking it out of me, but at least I've noticed. Maybe I can have a break week and have some more bubble baths with books? ...Maybe if my ereader gets back from being fixed.

Still, making some progress again with this. I love Murderbot's arguments with ART, ahaha.

Every murderbot book is a pick! Murderbot is on a trip with his humans when they are suddenly kidnapped and forced into an adventure that for once isn't the humans faults, its the murderbots! They meet up with old friends, meet new characters, and have science fiction fun. The only reason this is not my favorite is because I've gotten use to these stories in short novellas and a full novel had to much room to repeat itself. The book was still fun!

Final reread before I get onto Fugitive Telemetry! I'm actually much more in the mood for this now than I was when I first read it, when I was kinda forcing myself even though I wasn't in the mood to read (because I'd got an ARC), so it's very fun to just settle in and let it sweep me away.

Corporate misdealing, greed for resources, espionage, space travel, misbehaving wormholes and of course our most loved, cranky AI! This is a real feature length saga that gives a nod to previous books, brings back favourite characters and leads me even further towards the conclusion that I think I‘m related to Murderbot!

And the cards are so special - beautiful illustrations - shuffle the 24 cards and tell a story. Every shuffle and you get a different story. Love them. Thank you xxxxx

This snarky robot‘s adventure is just as entertaining as the novellas. Network Effect brings back Asshole Research Transport, A.K.A ART. If you‘ve never read about two A.I.s trading comebacks while working together towards a common goal, you‘re missing out. ART and Murderbot working as a team ups the ante and brings a healthy dose of tension and action.

Oh Murderbot! I was a bit taken aback on how long this one is! Beware this if you are gobbling up the novellas (4) before getting this one - IT IS SO like me to NOT pay attention. This is double in length and it caught me by surprise. I had a few other befuddlement moments but it finally came together. I so needed these stories this 2021. Accompanying photo is irrelevant. #scifi #adventure

I like Murderbot and its humans, and at first I thought their dynamic would make this book a real treat. Unfortunately, they weren‘t enough to carry me through a plot I found weirdly dull despite all the kidnappings and conspiracies and daring rescues. I got tired of reading the thing a long time before it ended.

Honestly, I‘ve enjoyed each Murderbot story a little less than the one before. I think it‘s time I tap out of the series.

Daisey I love Murderbot, but honestly I like the novella length more. (edited) 10mo
xicanti @Daisey I kind of wish I could blame my reaction on the length, but I liked the third and fourth novellas so much less than the first that I figure it‘s a clear trend. 😔 10mo

🎧 Murderbot 1.0, Murderbot 2.0, A.R.T.

The Governor module‘s gone. Where do we go from there. A lot like the novellas so if you enjoyed them you‘ll probably love this book but the characters are more fleshed out. The story isn‘t necessarily perfect but I loved the characters.

A lot of swearing. This could easily be a stand alone novel. Fast paced & funny. The Murderbot/ART interaction is hilarious like an old married couple.

I love these, I could read Murderbot forever! This is the 1 full novel in the series (so far) and I loved it, I hope she continues to dream up great adventures for our favorite SecUnit for years to come. So many emotions in this one, and SecUnit works hard to process them all, and watching them work through their issues while fighting for its humans and friends had me on the edge of my seat.

I can always trust Murderbot to bring me out of a mental slump. Love these books. I've also finished 3 other books that I couldn't fit on th #bookspinbingo board 🤣 more free spaces next time, I guess! The ABC Murders was Christie at her finest (and I usually prefer Marple to Poirot, so that's something!) and Halfway to the Grave was pure braincandy, but if you are realllllyyyy missing Buffy, it will hit that sweet spot for you.

I had stopped reading Murderbot after the fourth novella just because I was feeling pretty satisfied with it and not as interested in a full-length novel but then Network Effect was nominated for the Nebula Award, so I dove right in! I do really enjoy Murderbot‘s friendships with humans and with other constructs/robots/systems. And the action is exciting as ever. It was a fun read but hard to follow in some places.

Action-packed and filled with Murderbot humor...
It takes be quite a bit of concentration to track through all the choreography but it‘s definitely worth the effort!

Martha Wells is turning out consistently great adventures of a rogue SecUnit and I am here for it!

Impatiently waiting for ‘Fugitive Telemetry‘ (#6) to arrive in the mail from Powell‘s!

I finished listening to this Murderbot novel tonight with a beer next to a fire, and this is a perfect way to end a solitary spring Saturday evening. Murderbot is pure reading fun for me, and although it took a bit of adjustment I enjoyed the audio just as much as reading the novellas in print. Things get a bit more complicated in this full length novel, but a combination of Murderbot and ART is guaranteed to entertain.

1. For me, the biggest adjustment was having both my nephew move in and then having everyone home all the time. I‘m an introvert by nature, and I never realized how much I counted on that alone downtime when everyone else was out extraverting.

2. Make downtime for me happen....schedule it if I have too.

3. More! It was a seesaw for me, times when I struggled to concentrate and times where I read one after another for the escape...but in the ⤵️

Riveted_Reader_Melissa ...end the balance was more.

4. Tagged! I should have read it when it came out. Now I‘m thinking about re-reading the short stories before and then reading this one.

Holy deal alert! The Murderbot novel is $2.99 today in the US on nook! These deals don‘t always last long, so if you‘ve been looking for this one, I would suggest snapping it up today. And you don‘t have to have a nook, just a free nook app on your device. And of course you can always check other platforms, too!

Beat books of 2020! I'm obviously biased toward my own pick, Network Effect, but so many of my favorites this year made the list: Mexican Gothic, Ring Shout, Spoiler Alert, Take a Hint Dani Brown, The City We Became, The House in the Cerulean Sea, and The Year of the Witching. Now how am I going to finish all the others from my TBR on this list before the end of the year... 🤔

I freaking love Murderbot, but while I did enjoy this, I do think it‘s stories work so much better as novellas, the middle part of this was so slow. But the action and snarky attitude of Murderbot and a certain other AI was classic gold and I love them. (Also I could have done without the weird push in trying to put Murderbot in a romantic relationship with a certain AI, Murderbot states numerous times it has zero interest in such acts)

Sweetkokoro I managed to do a complete re-read of this series this month and loved it just as much the second time around, plus it was a buddy read with my bestie who is now a huge Murderbot fan! We are excited for the next installment next year! 1y
