“…it‘s less about the places we go than the people we meet along the way. …most of all, it‘s about the ones who stay, who become home.”
I LOVED this book. Emily Henry does a great job of crafting characters and stories that take readers on delightful journeys. On the surface, the stories seem fluffy—Hallmark Movie-esque. But they are so much more than that. The characters are complex. The plot and resolutions make you think. I‘m officially a fan!

I am in the midst of A LOT of adulting right now (😒), but this baby landed on my porch yesterday and it would be a crime for me to not take a few minutes to give it a little bit of the attention it deserves.
I adore David Sedaris and am so excited to delve into his latest selection of journal entries.
Here‘s hoping I can score tickets to see him live this winter. I‘m vaxxed, have a killer mask selection and am ready to be entertained!

Rest in Peace, Beverly Cleary. Every year since about 2nd grade I‘ve read my favorite Ramona book on your birthday. I didn‘t even miss a year during my wild college days or my first years as a mom! This is my original copy from 1990. It‘s always been prominently displayed on a shelf wherever I‘ve lived. I cherish it. Tonight I‘ll read it a couple of weeks early in honor of you. Thank you for sharing your gifts. I‘m forever grateful.

“My parents are a representation of what is possible when love wins and freedom rings and the pendulum swings toward justice.”
I wonder if that‘s what we are in our son‘s eyes. 2020 introduced him to deeper thinking about Race. The lesson came much earlier than we anticipated or would have liked, but it was necessary nonetheless. I wonder if he sees our family as a kind of triumph, or as just a regular family. In the beginning, I had so much hope and happiness for these two. I felt joy as I watched Harry and Meghan make their engagement announcement and conduct their first joint interview. This book explains so much. The deck was stacked. I don‘t say this to imply that the deck wasn‘t stacked against others—this is America, after all. I say it to say: if you look at our history as a nation—REALLY look at it—you will better understand how we got to where we are today. It‘s all cyclical and, if we don‘t really take good look and learn from what we see, we will continue to make the same mistakes (if we even survive this cycle).

I heard the author on a podcast over a month ago and have been chomping at the bit to read this book! The first section is told from the perspective of Commander Frank Culbertson, who was on the Int‘l Space Station, and was “the only American off the planet” on 9/11. It‘s the little details like that that—I believe—will make this book one of the most impactful I‘ll read this year. Imagine being in space as the world as you know it falls apart.

Crazeedi Thins book is so well done, I heard the author on a show. And bought the book immediately. Everyone needs to read 2y
