I really liked this installment on Obi-Wan during his Padawan years. It provided some insight into his struggles with the Force and his place in the universe. Although a YA title it hit on some deeper issues of loss, grief and purpose.

So… not book related but today is my 3rd day of retirement. After 27 years, I had my opportunity to retire and I took it. I look forward to the next chapter and more time to read!
My favorite mystery… this was tough, but from the Queen of mysteries, probably her best, in my opinion, And Then There Were None. It has everything, secluded setting, multiple suspects, many secrets. It‘s missing my favorite Christie character, H. Poirot, but Poirot would have figured things out too quickly 😉

pickThe first in the Sean Duffy series (#SeriesLove2025). Duffy is a Catholic detective in Protestant N. Ireland during The Troubles. This was a great start to the series and Duffy is a complex character. I look forward to more in the series. Gerald Doyle was a fabulous narrator of the audiobook.

pickThis was so much fun! A locked room rom-com mystery (who knew that was a thing?). I enjoyed the interactions between the two MCs, the locked room mystery and the relationship mystery. I‘ll definitely try another Ally Carter novel.

so-soThe 7th book in the Undead series (#SeriesLove2025) was a major shift in the series. This was darker than the previous entries. I am giving it a so-so because it wasn‘t what I was expecting. I will read the next book and see if I want to finish the series.

Another great Matthew Shardlake novel (#SeriesLove2025) for #ShardlakeBR. Shardlake and Barak are after a most sinister killer who taunts them along the way. Meanwhile Henry VIII is in pursuit of Catherine Parr.
I‘ve lost several books to those who don‘t return. I now have a select list of 4 that I will lend books to, both my parents being on that list as well as two book loving friends. I‘ve learned my lesson.

pickI was happy to return to the All Souls world. Diane travels to Ravenswood to meet her Proctor relatives and decide on whether she wants to pursue higher magic. We meet several Proctors along the way, some characters from the past return (both good and bad) and the relationship between Matthew and Diana evolves and strengthens.
Excellent narration by Jennifer Ikeda.
