Murder on Lenox Hill
Murder on Lenox Hill | Victoria Thompson
5 posts | 7 read | 4 to read
Midwife Sarah Brandt and Detective Sergeant Frank Malloy's most disturbing case to date begins not with a murder, but with the pregnancy of a young woman-who is mentally still a child herself. And when suspicion falls on a beloved minister, the sordid affair could take its toll in innocent lives.

A historical fiction series featuring midwife, Sarah Brandt and Detective Sergeant Frank Malloy. This is book number seven and in it the duo is on a mission to find out who is responsible for impregnating Sarah‘s developmentally disabled patient. I am sad I came to this series so late, but was thrilled to learn there are 26 books in the series with a new one slated for April 2024.

Book club pick. Plot is pretty boilerplate mystery but TW for rape. Ending was also quite obvious but well written that you enjoyed the two lead characters dynamic.

This was a fast easy read, and by this time a handful of repetitive phrases glared at me but I will read every book in this series.

kspenmoll I really have enjoyed this series. 2y

Gissy @Chrissyreadit Nice!!! But you didn‘t need to be hospitalized, right? COVID is still scary. But I‘m glad you are feeling better and it seems your family is helping (pampering) well you said that your mother is still around at 50☺️But that‘s good to have family around when we need them❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 2y
Chrissyreadit @Gissy I‘m 50… my mom is 70. I did not need to be hospitalized but it hit me pretty hard. I think if I had not been vaxed and boosted I would not be here now. Also my dr prescribed the antiviral Paxlovid- and it was a game changer. Within 12 hours I was not scared I could die anymore. (From pain- my breathing was ok. I was scared of blood clots) my work also stepped up big time. Dropping off food, covering my days off. I‘m still home but hope 2y
