Red.Reads This is in my TBR pile, I'm hoping it turns out to be as interesting as I've heard it is! 2w
JessNevertheless @Red.Reads Update: I think I'm bailing on this book for now. If you have it in a hard copy that might be better but I feel like I've been listening to a reiteration of one interesting theory for hours now. Might be easier to distinguish if you could easily go back and reread? 1w

BarbaraBB @JessNevertheless Where are your favorite parts? I am visiting DC this Summer and have never been there so no idea where to go! 1mo
Zelma Allergies are killing me this year too. Ugh! 1mo
JessNevertheless @BarbaraBB Ooo! Library of Congress for sure, it's so beautiful! Smithsonians are great too esp in the summer since DC gets very hot and humid. Lots of pretty rowhouses to look at in the Capitol Hill and Dupont Circle areas. Bookstores: Politics & Prose (multiple locations), Kramerbooks, Capitol Hill Books, Solid State Books. Anything specific you're looking for? 1mo
BarbaraBB Thanks! I‘ll screenshot. Any not to be missed restaurants? And the best neighbourhood to book a hotel? I made reservation for The Pod but I can still make changes! 1mo
Crazeedi @BarbaraBB we stayed in hotel close to Georgetown, it was nice but pricey! 1mo
Crazeedi @JessNevertheless @Zelma I just heard on news that the pollen is more than 30% worse than last year, maybe all the rain???? 1mo

JessNevertheless @Crazeedi @Zelma I'm not sure what it is either but it's so unpleasant :( Usually doesnt hit me until I'm home and thinking it wasn't so bad outside today. Next thing I know, my eyes feel so itchy you'd think I stuck my face in a bowl of pollen 1mo

Saw this in a used book store and just knew I had to have it. I'm always fascinated by cemeteries, graveyards, and all things morbid. I love learning about the history of cemeteries in particular, and now I've got a list to visit and learn about (at least from the comfort of my reading chair)

phatsallylee This sounds like an amazing read! If you are near Savannah, GA, i recommend bonaventure cemetery. Very peaceful with amazing views and plenty of moss covered oaks. 3mo

Unpopular opinion, but I really didn't like this book 🙁. Seemed very lifetime original movie to me and I have a very low tolerance for sappy things. Glad I have a book club in my life to make me read outside my comfort zone, and even gladder still I get to choose my next book. #unpopularopinion

britt_brooke Ooh! I‘m always happy to see someone pan a popular book. 😆 I appreciate your honesty. It‘s in my TBR, but I can‘t say I‘m that excited to read it. 4mo

KendylChamberlain What's interesting is....why are people not wanting to give books on here bad reviews or just REAL comments. My book club just picked this book to read based off ALL the "wonderful" reviews. Now I'm bummed. 3mo
JessNevertheless @KendylChamberlain I'm sure people think if they can't say anything nice, they shouldn't say anything at all. But if you're going to write a review, be honest! Would give a much better representation of how good a book really is. Have you read it already or are just preemptively bummed? 3mo

JessNevertheless @Kell1 Haha, thanks for making me feel really accomplished! 📚📚 Also looks like you're new to Listy, welcome! This community definitely made me up my reading game for sure! 4mo
Kell1 This is impressive. I wish to get there one day. Yes, I am new to Litsy, was looking for an app to keep track of the books I read, so I could return to them for reference and I stumbled upon Litsy, which is pretty much a community. Happy accident. So, what is your secret? How can you read so much in just a month? 4mo
JessNevertheless @Kell1 Audiobooks at work haha. A lot of the work I do allows me to listen to stuff in the background. That's basically 8 hours a day of reading I get back. 4mo
Kell1 That makes sense. I tried to do that at work a couple of times. Doesn't work for me, I can't focus on the audiobook and at work at the same time. Guess it's true what they say about women and multitasking. 4mo
