I am starting to feel like myself again… so of course will update and bookbomb Litsy- I‘m also trying to engage more with storygraph. Reading has of course been life saving and soul saving these days! This was a #cbbc pick and i liked a lot of things about this first of 6 books. Takes place in a bookstore within a cute town and the detective and mc have 2 mysteries to solve. The detective was her college mentor and i loved the collaboration.
Finished! It was really good. I very much want to read the next one. I really liked the characters, the town, and even the “love interest” won me over (a *little*) by the end. 😉 A solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
But as indicated in my prior post, I need a real break from cozies for a beat. So starting William…
Welp.. I still think I can probably finish the #10beforetheend #tenbeforetheend - but I had to replace 2. I think I‘ve read all the cozies I can read this year, save maybe 1 more if I need to for #cbbc #coffeebeanbookclub
Reading the tagged. It‘s good. I can tell. But the last several cozies have dragged for me & I think it‘s because I need… let‘s say, less predictability. So. 2 cozies replaced with: The Unraveling & The City In Glass.

4/5 ⭐️
When an old college acquaintance ends up dead in a secret room at The Secret Bookcase bookstore, bookseller Annie Murray is swept up in the investigation.
This book is a quick read. There are several plausible suspects, a plot that twists and turns, and an ending that ties up all the loose ends. I‘ll be reading the second book in the series.

Book 30 of 2024: This book is a Whodunit easy read. I give it 🌟🌟🌟/5 because it reminded me too much of a teen sitcom then an adult book. A story plot you could probably find on Archie or Clarissa Explains It All kinda deal. Book 2 of #CBBC this will be mailed out Monday. Sorry about the delay.

1) When my kids were young we took a road trip to San Francisco through the redwoods. They were majestic. There are so many places I want to see Glacier Nat‘l Park, Yellowstone in the US top the list.
2) The tagged book is set in the fictional town of Redwood Grove, CA.
@Eggs
The Body in the Bookstore has given this series a marvelous start. Diverse and engaging characters, wonderful world-building, and an enticing mystery come together for an entertaining escape.

This is the debut book in a charming new cozy series. Annie is a savvy smart protagnist who has a criminology degree. Annie has a wonderful idea to hold a town wide "mystery festival". The festival is a success drawing mystery readers in to follow clues at various businessess to try to solve mysteries. The turn out is unexpected & the bookstore's involvement is a huge success when a murder occurs.
Book 154.
I liked this one, and the killer was not immediately obvious. The setting lacked a bit for me as it seemed secondary to the characters. Not quite as developed as I‘m used to for cozies, but I‘ll give book two a shot. It did talk about a reader convention and I sorely miss the one that used to happen in WI.
2 new cozy mysteries through Kindle unlimited.Annie Murray has found sanctuary from her best friend‘s murder years ago in the welcoming town of Redwood Grove and its bookstore,The Secret Bookcase. In # 1 Annie organizes a townwide book festival. When a murder occurs, Annie & her coffee shop friend Pri pledge to solve the crime.Quirky, lovable characters abound:the owner of the bookstore who is convinced he is a descendent of Agatha Christie,🔽
Listening to this one at work yesterday and she mentions Trixie Belden and Cherry Ames - makes my heart happy! Then last night I find out there‘s a Bob White group on Litsy!
It‘s just after sunrise. Cool on the porch; a breezy 68 degrees! I am even wearing a thin summer cotton bathrobe! Reveling in this weather- temps will rise but for now, I am comfortable. Plan to walk with my neighbor in about 15 minutes. #readyourkindle
We‘re back baby! #cbbc #coffeebeanbookclub
@Captivatedbybooks I‘ll mail yours (and #lmpbc) on Monday. We just got back from up north.
#ReadYourKindle is really helping me tackle my backlog of 800+ titles. The tagged is a new series by a favorite cozy author. A Vow is the end of a trilogy, both the Woodbury and the Bradley are next up in ongoing series.
Hope to cross all 4 off the list this month.
