#SummerSpecial
For #CousinsDay the Southern Eclectic series by Molly Harper features the McCready cousins whose family owns the local funeral parlor & bait shop in Lake Sackett, Georgia.
The tagged book is the first novel of the 3-full novel trilogy, although there is a prequel novella & two other novellas in the mix as well. Light & fun, often funny romances with some good Southern snark.
My first time rereading this one and I have no regrets.
#QuotsySep21 #pardon
“…I‘m your great-aunt Tootie.” “Beg pardon?” Even Margot couldn‘t be sure which part she was questioning—the “biological” bit or the the ridiculous nickname. Even in the South, people new better than to name their children Tootie, right?
One more look at this refreshing cover. This was a sweet light romance that‘s part of the Southern Eclectic series. The main character totally screws up her high powered job, gets fired, and moves to her father‘s home town. The tricky part is that she‘s not seen her father since she was a young girl. Her new home offers her a cabin, a job, and a chance for love. I love the sweetness, humor, and romance.
I restarted this series yesterday in audio. This book with be a reread but it‘s been so long since I‘ve read it that I wanted to reread before continuing on.
Cute story about a Chicago girl getting in touch with her southern roots. She gets to meet her bio dad and that side of the family.
#24b4monday #litsypartyofone
After a flock of flamingos turn fete into fiasco Margot's days of party planning for the elite is a thing of the past. As the video goes viral and her life falls apart not even her friends are returning her calls. When a Skype call from a long lost aunt leads to a job in Georgia she has no choice but to accept but working at the family funeral home and bait shop means confronting the father she never knew.
The McCready Family Funeral Home and Bait Shop is sure to have a #coffin or two, right?
+1 for #TeamSlaughter #Scarathlon #ChillingPhotoChallenge
#bookishbingo really cute book and talked about all kinds of southern yummies! #deliciousfooddescriptions
Getting my oil changed and enjoying some sweet tea...
Some rain came through and now it‘s a nice chilly porch sitting kind of night!
Enjoying the quiet and the wind chimes while tiny naps. This weekend is the #24in48readathon and this series, is in my plans! Today‘s tea: Summer Tranquility White Tea from Ku Cha in Boulder.
5/5 stars. This book was the perfect southern charm book, with just a hint of crazy family thrown in. Can‘t wait to read the rest of the series!
When your coffee cup is empty but the kittens are asleep on your feet so you can't get up to refill it 🤔😻
I love a sassy, smart heroine and this delivered! I‘m usually not fond of kids in romances but they were sassy too so it was fun. There‘s also dogs, and family and small town drama. It was really enjoyable. #romantsy #readwomen
I stayed up long enough to finish #book2 of my personal readathon while my pups was snoring. #dogsoflitsy
3.5 🌟 Light and Funny, small town, quirky characters, southern charm with a bit of romance thrown in. Looking forward to the others in the series.

I was in the mood for a sweet down home southern book and this was just what the doctor ordered! A light, fun summer read 🍑 ☀️ Already requested book 2 from the library (bc my pictured stack isn‘t quite high enough 🙄)... 4 🌟
This was cute, and as sweet as sweet tea! A little predictable, but that‘s didn‘t detract from its charm. It‘s like watching your favorite Hallmark movie about a big city woman who ends up going home to a small southern town, and getting to know the family she didn‘t know she had. Throw in a bit of romance and several colorful characters, and you‘ve got one feel good story! Definitely a fun summer read!
So excited for this sweet little bistro set I found for a steal at Big Lots today! Excuse me while I make some peach tea to accompany my new southern chick lit 🍑
I‘m starting this one because I‘ve got to keep the audiobooks flowing while I‘m working on projects! 💪
This is a #BlameItOnLitsy read. I found this for $1.99 in the Kindle store last week, and it was a perfect, light summer read. It‘s predictable but sweet. As a Georgia native, I thought some of the cultural observations of the South were pretty funny.
#QuotsyJune18 #junk
I knew Molly Harper would have a good 'junk' quote in my current read. Luckily the Skype call from 'hotsy-totsy45' turns out not to be "random nudity" and instead turns out to be Margot's long-lost Great-Aunt Tootie.?
Happy Aloha Friday and Happy June! 🌺🍍🌞 Hanging at the coffeeshop having breakfast and finally. starting this e-book before finishing up some work projects. Cold brew with coconut milk and an acai bowl are a treat on a fairly humid Friday. 😋
@jillannjohn using my new cup for this delicious watermelon mint iced tea my daughter made. And because it‘s a scorcher already and my office is like a sauna, I‘ve got a big bottle of water as well. Thanks again!
Day 28: South
Southern Chick Lit always makes me long for my own veranda to while away the afternoons... for now I‘ll just have to make do with my comfy couch and mason jar full of sweet tea!

This #AudibleDailyDeal (US) was one of @MrBook ‘s #TBRTemptations. I might have to #BlameMrBook if I get it. 🤷🏻♀️
#TBRtemptation post 6! The cover makes it seem like a good book to kick off the warmer seasons, doesn't it? This is the 1st Southern Eclectic series installment. Margot has been a big-time successful event planner in Chicago. When one goes horribly awry, she can't find clients. Then the McCready family of Lake Sackett, Georgia, who own the Family Funeral Home & Bait Shop call on her. Romance will unexpectedly spring. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
Friends with Books bookclub tonight! Fun and light read to get the summer started😎 #funSummeRead @JoanehSmith
When an event she plans turns into a disaster, Margot needs a fresh start. The one she‘s offered involves moving to a small Georgia town, getting to know her big, close-knit family, and working at the family business, the McCready Family Funeral Home and Bait Shop. It‘s a charming contemporary story (with some sweet romance), and I had a lot of fun reading it.
Book 1 ✔️ #4in48Readathon
Happy Wednesday! #HumpDayPost
1. Right now, chips & salsa. 😋 (Pic from Google.)
2. I recently bought the tagged book because of some good reviews. #BlameItOnLitsy
3. Nope.
4. If I‘m being truly honest, messy. 🤷🏼♀️
5. Bring It On. 😂 My roommate “made” me watch it because I‘d only seen parts of it. It‘s all kinds of early-2000s cheesy goodness.
“And, most important, because this will determine whether we can truly be close friends or just cousins who tolerate each other - do you like mutant-sea-creature movies, yes or no?“
Frankie, you‘re my kind of girl! If you haven‘t already purchased and read “Sweet Tea and Sympathy”, I strongly recommend that you do! And consider going to Quarterly‘s Warehouse Sale to get this Pagehabit box for 50% off! The annotations alone are more than worth it!
This was surprisingly good. If you like sweet, contemporary romance that‘s mostly clean...you‘ll enjoy this.
It‘s a stunning day here, finally nice enough to sit outside and do some reading.
Cute, easy read and I instantly fell in love with all the characters. It reminded me of my favorite TV show, Hart of Dixie.
I love Southern storytelling, and a friend recommended this. I‘ve never read Molly Harper before. Living in a Midwestern state that‘s offered four months of winter makes the idea of sitting on a porch and sipping tea awfully inviting. I‘d even take pesky flies (I think). 😊😂😊
