I think I‘m the only person on the planet that didn‘t love this book. It was just ok for me. It was predictible; I saw all the plot twists coming. Maybe it‘s because I‘m getting tired of the alcoholic woman that no one believes trope. I liked the old Jimmy Stewart movie Rear Window much better.

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I knew I wouldn‘t so I‘m not going there!!! 🤣🤣 6y

I hate DNF‘ing a book, but this just wasn‘t for me. I was intrigued by the premise, but I wasn‘t prepared for the explicit sex scenes. If I‘m reading a steamy romance, I know to expect that, but this was way too much for my taste for this type of book.

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I finished it, but didn‘t like it at all!!! (edited) 6y

I really enjoyed this book, as did my 10 year old son. It‘s a fun story with some great lessons for kids. The writing is funny and enjoyable. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. My son said 3.5.

I love Karen White and this book is why. This is so much more than the Southern girl leaving home and coming back years later to visit. This is about family, finding yourself, and figuring out what really matters in life. I felt like I really knew these characters was a part of their town. 4.5 stars due to the bad accent of the narrator of the audiobook. Otherwise, this is an excellent read.

Samplergal 😂😂😂Bad accent! 6y

This was such a delightful read! I quickly got sucked into the world. The way the author describes the world and characters makes them all come to life. I can‘t wait for the next one in this series. A definite 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book. I listed to it on audio. I enjoyed the characters, the plot and the magical realism. My only complaint was that the narrator had a terrible southern accent. On a southerner, that is hard for me to swallow. A solid 4 star read.

I really enjoyed this story. However, this is a middle grade book. There were too many adult themes in this book for that age group in my opinion. I will not be letting my almost 10 year old read this one. It‘s a shame though because the story was so good and would have been just as good without those themes and references.

dragondrool I couldn't gain any kind of traction with this one. 6y
