#TBRtemptation post 2! Recently released. January Scaller is the ward of wealthy Mr. Locke. She resides in his house filled with strange, exotic miscellany. One day she comes upon a book. It tells of other worlds, and spins a tale of secret doors and dangerous adventure. As she reads, she finds it interwoven with much of her own. Magic seems to abound in this Secret Garden-esque debut novel. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

#TBRtemptation post 1! Wiltshire is one of the world‘s most in-demand law enforcement consultants. With a blend of science writing and true crime memoir, she shows her transition from professor to detective. She has helped solve murders, locate missing bodies, and exonerate the innocent, with amazing success. She uses her microscope and natural clues like dirt, pollen, spores, to piece things together. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

I had a few spare moments this weekend to wander the nearby bookstore, and found a few newer books that caught my eye! #TBRtemptation

I usually don‘t go for books like the 💎 Doris one, but we happened to have shopped at the Charlotte David Yurman store the same week she stole a $33,000 💍 in 2015. 😲 It‘s a weird coincidence, so I‘m intrigued by the book.

MsLeah8417 I‘ve heard nothing but good things about Diamond Doris...Amistad Press has some great books coming out (edited) 1mo
4thhouseontheleft @MsLeah8417 Good to know! 1mo

The Beekeeper of Aleppo | Christy Lefteri
post image

#TBRtemptation post 3! Nuri‘s a beekeeper and his wife, Agra, is an artist in the beautiful Syrian city of Aleppo. It‘s all destroyed by war, and Afra goes blind. They become refugees traveling through Turkey and Greece, ultimately heading to Britain. Mustafa, a cousin, is there, teaching beekeeping in Yorkshire. Considered by critics as “compelling” and a journey is the heart rich with symbolism. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

DGRachel I‘ve been seriously considering this one for a while now, but haven‘t bought it, yet. 🤔 1mo
