A funny illustrated memoir by cartoonist Allie Brosh! Not all of it was funny, but it is still worth the read!

I found this author by chance on Instagram a few months ago and bought this hardcover for myself for Mother's Day last week. I found the poems to be wildly approachable and I loved the bits of memoir text in each chapter!
My youngest graduated high school tonight and I'm so proud of her!
Tagged is the book I'm currently reading, but the title is appropriate for the occasion. 💜
I knew almost nothing about Achilles going into the book and now I want to read more about Greek mythology!

Seasons makes me happy when she isn't clawing at my carpet. 😻
A good book about friendship and acceptance. This was my first audiobook with dual narration. I love this cover!
A fascinating social commentary laying out how racism effects not just people of color, but all Americans.
Another romance that held my attention and kept me reading way past my bedtime! This story follows Sid and Lucas.
Listening to the tagged book while getting some necessary sun.
I know very little about chess, but this book was so engrossing for me! I read half of it in one sitting (staying up way too late to do so). The edition I have needs an editor, and that was a bit distracting. Overall, the book makes me want to watch the Netflix series just to keep going.
I liked most of the story, enough to keep reading even though I wanted to quit about halfway through. I didn't like all of the sentence fragments that the author wrote.
A beautifully written, heartbreaking book!
I loved this book! I liked how Kate Quinn wrote the different points of view for Charlie and Eve and how she tied them both together at the end. The Author's Note at the end of the book was fascinating as well.
Hilarious anecdotes from Colin Jost's life! I love him on SNL and he's just as funny throughout the memoir.
At times this was a confusing read, there were extra characters that seemed out of place and the pacing was weird. Overall a great premise though and I will probably read more in the future from Harris.
A sweet little book of poetry, narrated by Gabby, a girl with a great imagination. Just the type of light book I need right now!
32% in and I'm not invested in the characters or plot. Content warning for eating disorder.
To me, this story started out slowly, but then picked up the pace and was much more readable. It's a story of a 14 year old girl addicted to meth in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and her road to happiness.
An amazing collection of essays about sexism and racism that intersect with other current issues in society for Black women.
4 years ago today I found one of the most awesome corners of the internet! 💖
I made it 34% of the way through and I'm not invested in the characters. I feel like the plot is generally predictable, based on the way it's set up. This would be a great book for people who like YA that has magic!
I liked the characters and the different perspectives through the book. It's a short book, but has a lot of story in it!
Fast-paced adventure novel with a tiny bit of romance thrown in for good measure. This was a Christmas gift from my sister-in-law, otherwise I probably wouldn't have picked it up. It was good, but I don't know yet if I'll continue the series.
The book started off slowly but gained momentum and ended well. The author wrote extensively about medical advancements in the beginning and then tied it in to the history of the hospital and I found it somewhat monotonous. I learned a lot of new words and a history of a hospital I hadn't been very aware of.
I've decided to start highlighting words that I have to look up this year. I like learning new things!
I loved the characters and was invested in what happened to them! The plot sometimes moved slowly, but I didn't find it unbearable and I learned about a civil war I had no previous knowledge of. I will also add that my version (Kindle) could have used some editing and that was a tad bit distracting to me.
Had some good information in the first 10%, but also a lot of flowery prose that made it hard to get into. DNF this one.
I've bailed on so many books this year. 🤦♀️😭
DNF due to suicide in first chapter that I was wholly unprepared for. I can't deal with that right now.
Weirdly delightful! I went into the book knowing almost nothing of it, except that 42 was important to something. Now I want to watch the movie!
Such a strange book. Just over 50% finished with it.
A fluffy, cozy romance set in wintertime. The only unlikely part was that it snowed on Christmas in Texas.
I've wanted to read this one for a while and I'm glad I did! The illustrations are magnificent!
I love the illustrations in this book and the story is so sweet!
Managed to get 15% of the way through it, but I'm not invested in any of the characters. I wanted to like it, but I don't. 🤷♀️
I learned so much from Kendall's essays in this book! I knew some of it, but she gave me new perspectives on other parts of intersectionality that I hadn't thought of before.
I've been audiobooking the tagged book while I get as many things done for tomorrow that I can. So far I've made oat balls, turkey pinwheels, and arranged the veggie tray. I still have to make green tea and fudge.
A satisfying ending to the Inn Boonsboro trilogy!
A funny memoir interspersed with information about autism spectrum disorder.
An inspiring call to action for anyone who wants to change the way things are!
I wasn't as invested in Avery and Owen as I was in Clare and Beckett, but it was still a good love story and I will finish the trilogy!
Life update: my daughter was recognized at Senior Night tonight at the football game. It's a great excuse to take a nice picture together!
Cozy romance that brought me to tears. I love stories/trilogies that have this type of setup and feel to them.
This book is way more intense than the movie! I love the movie, but as it so often is, the book is better.
I first read this as an 8th grader and didn't really understand or like it. I decided to reread this as an adult and I understand it so much better!
