This was suggested to me as a spooky-but-not-too-spooky book, & it was indeed that. It was fine, Tuesday was a likeable character, but it didn't floor me. I did *really* enjoy the many details of the Boston setting, as both of my daughters attended colleges in/near Boston.

This novel was entertaining, fun, mysterious, heartfelt, and filled with friendship.

Tuesday Mooney is a loner. She keeps to herself, begrudgingly socializes, and spends much of her time watching old Twin Peaks and X-Files DVDs. But when Vincent Pryce, Boston‘s most eccentric billionaire, dies―leaving behind an epic treasure hunt through the city, with clues inspired by his hero, Edgar Allan Poe―Tuesday‘s adventure finally begins.

This was a fun and quirky story: Tuesday, a woman in her 30s, and her gay BFF encounter a wealthy man who dies shortly after their first meeting, leaving a widow, a trail to clues for them and others to follow to reach a vast treasure...and also an unsolved murder.

Eh. It had such promise. It just tried too hard. I was not sure who i was supposed to be cheering on, what was really going on, and the game was poorly described. 😐 i almost DNF, but i pushed through. Savior character was the best friend.. loved his quick wit and snark, but towards the end, i even started rolling my eyes at his storyline. Giving it 2 🌟.

This was such a fun and different book!
I have a tie for my June favorite though: The Institute by Stephen King. Since I chose a book once by him already in 2022, I default to this one.

This could have been great but the plot lost momentum, the characters were ill-defined set pieces, and there were too many storylines.

I‘m done but I don‘t think I know what happened?
A rich guy leaves a scavenger hunt for people to win his fortune after he dies but there are 2 people pretending to be the same person and potentially a murder and potentially a massive new find for the art community and potentially a love story and potentially a real ghost but not the ghost of the scavenger hunt guy or the potential murder. Someone please read this and tell me if I‘m just dumb.

I absolutely loved this story!

It‘s been raining all day, and all I‘ve done is read. I‘m winding down my reading by starting this one.

I didn‘t make it to my #BigJuneReadathon goal of 7 books, but I read 4.5 with a total of 1,523 pages. My favorite was Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts, with The Institute as a close second.

This was a fun spooky adventure. When an eccentric billionaire dies and leaves a treasure hunt for the whole city, Tuesday Mooney teams up with a few friends to solve the clues.
Lots of character intrigue, mysterious disappearances, and Edgar Allan Poe references. I enjoyed the whole ride!

Eccentric rich guy dies and turns finding his fortune into a citywide game. What a fun, smart, wild ride with little bits of poignant darkness for balance.

I can see why this one made your best of 2021 list, @erinreads (and your best of 2020, @monalyisha ). It has great pacing from start to finish and a “finding your people” theme that always pulls me in. The characters are quirky and cool. I‘ll be recommending this to others too! #NYWD22

I ran to the library today to return and pick-up books, and they had a few wrapped books on display to choose from. I picked this one and I‘m looking forward to reading it. I didn‘t realize she also wrote Bellweather Rhapsody, which I‘m planning to read next month for #Booked2022.

I got off to a confusing start with this one. Based on the cover art & a comparison to The Westing Game, I assumed it was MG or at least YA. Nope. I came across two main characters in their 30s…and as one of them met his boyfriend at a bar, wondering if he was going to be proposed to or get dumped, I realized I needed to re-evaluate. 😂 Once I figured out the intended audience, I really enjoyed it! ⤵️

Tuesday Mooney is a prospect researcher, preparing dossiers on potential donors for hospital. At a charity auction, one of the wealthiest man in Boston, drops dead. He‘s left behind a legacy and instructions for a wired treasure hunt.

Racculia has crafted a fantastic story: part adventure story, part puzzle quest, part ghost story. Wonderful characters I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Fun! Loved Tuesday, Dex, and Dorry. A great trio of characters and a mystery in a mystery. And maybe another mystery on top, I don't know, I lost count, but I had a good time!
Kind of expected more ghosts, though.

What a fun and intriguing story! Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghost is a mystery within a mystery and it's fun! It's enjoyable and a book that should be savored.

Up next...this is our bookclub pick. I had never heard of it and am looking forward to reading a new author. #bookspinbingo

I heard about this book on the podcast, “What Should I Read Next?” (I highly recommend this podcast!) I enjoyed the quirky nature of the characters and the story. The treasure hunt was a fun feature. Great narrator.

Started as a solid read but became a bit of a slog. The second-half felt unfocused and disjointed.

I started off liking this book and I liked the idea of it. Maybe I didn‘t know exactly what was going to happen with this book, but I ended up not caring towards the end. It got very unbelievable.. all of the different POVs and the random thoughts all the characters had, going on tangents were weird. I don‘t know, it just didn‘t mesh well together for me.

I‘m really bad at actually posting reviews for books, so here‘s my updated #BookSpinBingo board with my ratings! I‘ve started the year off with some really strong reads, thanks in huge part to @monalyisha and her #NewYearWhoDis list! I mean, two five star reads only 10 days into the year? What? And one was my #BookSpin for the month! And ugh, Tuesday Mooney is SO GOOD. 🖤 The rest of the month/year has a lot to live up to.

Since March, my mother-in-law has brought me a chai latte from Starbucks every Friday. Always a great companion to my current read while I pause from working for breakfast. Also @monalyisha thanks for suggesting I read Bellweather Rhapsody first because I was so excited to see Rabbit show up in this one! I admit I didn‘t pick up on it until he said his last name, but still exciting. 😂 This is such a fun read! #NewYearWhoDis

I haven‘t gone to The Dog Eared Book at all in a couple weeks. I still managed to get myself three secondhand books from there this week. 🤷‍♀️😂

My husband was kind enough to pick all the selections I‘d reserved up for me.

While I‘m eager to read all of these, Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts should have been on my Christmas wishlist and it wasn‘t. Despite this oversight, things worked in my favor and I have it now.

I really liked this! It was campy and fun. It did take me two weeks to read because of my brother‘s hectic wedding and the stressful election week, but I finally finished it! It‘s a great read for the spooky season.

Loved this! The characters are quirky but you are cheering for them all and enjoying the mystery while you are at it.

She starts off with an Ursula K le Guin quote. I‘m already invested. #audiobook

This book tells the story of a woman who becomes involved in a magnificent treasure hunt. A murder mystery, a ghost, a fabulous best friend, mysterious love interest, and precocious young side kick - all the ingredients for a fun story! But Kate Racculia does more than that - she opens up the characters and reveals their souls in moves which make you fall more and more in love with them. A masterful telling of a bonkers adventure!

I had this recommended to me as The Westing Game for adults and that is a perfect description for this fantastic book.
