Ninth House | Leigh Bardugo

Current read and the first book I ordered from Book of the Month - or certainly the first one I'm reading. I'm not sure I like Bardugo's writing style but the story is promising to be a fun, horror-filled read.

Mehso-so

Book 16: Jackson's writing is sophisticated and intelligent. This book however is mixed for me. First of all, it only faintly resembles the show. Even without that, though, the book started strong then got muddled as it progressed. The end felt especially abrupt, but the entire second half of the book was like she was either rushed to finish or completely gave up on the original premise.

Patchshank I didn't like the book much either. It started off fine then just got weird, but not is a good way. 1h

This is such a great book. It is set in 1917, England. Stella Marcham is grieving for her financé, who recently died in the war. She goes to stay with her sister who is pregnant. She is staying at Greyswick a country mansion and while there lots of strange and suspicions things start to happen. I was gripped from the beginning! #recommend

#22 Small Spaces was so spooky good that I can‘t wait any longer to read this one. I was going to save it for October but I don‘t have that kind of self control 😆

Caffeinated_Reader You know, for a middle grade book, that was scary! It was extremely well written and each page I turned just pulled me in farther. I love this series so much. 7h

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5. Sometimes I think Stephen King is a closet racist and gets away using slurs in his books 🤷‍♀️.

Reagan This is one I haven‘t read. 22h

Currently reading...not sure what to expect! It's a ghost story, I am up all alone in my dark house, and I am a total scaredy cat!
