Just a little shopping at Barnes and Noble on this rainy Sunday.
I‘ve read and collected almost every Cristina Lauren book that has been published (there are a couple more on my e-reader) but I think I‘m done now. The sizzle of their Beautiful/Wild series has been replaced with much tamer young adult material, cute while you‘re reading it, but uneven in quality and pretty forgettable in the long run. Really wanted to love their latest but frankly, pretty mediocre as far as Romances go.
I was first to get this book through overdrive at my library since I made a pre-release purchase request based on Litsy recommendations. They obliged, and it is mine, virtually, for 21 days. This book is every bit as fun as your reviews read!
Can y‘all see how badly I need this book in physical form for my yellow display!
Review is up on my blog. Stop by and say hi. This story is adorable! https://reecaspieces.com/2019/05/14/the-unhoneymooners-by-christina-lauren/
Available May 14, thank you Simon and Schuster Canada and Netgalley for a copy of The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren for honest review.
Put this one on your summer reading list! I love a light romantic comedy now and again and this one fit the bill perfectly for me! Loved the characters and the romance!

I struggled a little with this a little. The story started out slow for me and a lot of the time Olive annoyed me. It was clear that her strong dislike of Ethan (and his apparent reciprocation of the feeling) came from misunderstandings and lack of communication.
However, with the bright cover and enemies-to-lovers trope (one of my favorite), this is a good beach read that you can escape into for a little while.

Well this book was delightful. My very favorite trope in movies is the fake relationship. I love it. This book was a delightful rom com. I laughed loudly so many times while reading this book. It‘s ridiculous and fun and I really loved the characters.
I was provided an advanced copy of this book by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I know better than to start a Christina Lauren book before bed. I never learn! Work will be rough today but I had been saving this ARC for a night when I needed a pick me up. When food poisoning strikes down everyone at Olive‘s sister‘s wedding she ends up on her honeymoon with the best man, Ethan, who is also her nemesis. I didn‘t love everything about this book but it was funny, filled with great banter, and just the escape that I needed.
My sister in law and I are tight, but we have completely opposite pop culture tastes. I like dark and tragic, she likes light and fluffy. I like characters from faraway times and places and cultures, she likes ones she can relate to. I like movies and tv, she likes podcasts and music. Contemporary romance novels are the only thing we agree on. We‘ve been swapping recipes as we both read Jasmine Guillory‘s foodcentric Books!
TGIF Friends! A extra yay, since we are now on Spring Break! 👏👏👏The Unhoneymooners @christinalauren @gallerybooks This book has been on my tbr. I was super excited I won this on @goodreads Unhoneymooners is out 05/14/19. Definitely go check out @christinalauren other books, if you haven‘t already. #tgif #springbreak
This excellent rom-com was exactly what I needed to read while my brain is still in a fog from changing the clocks (thanks, #netgalley!). While the last quarter of it or so dragged a bit, the first 75% was so quick and fun that I didn‘t even mind. Enemies to lovers plus fake married plus outrageous tropical shenanigans plus complex family dynamics? A pick from me! 🌴
Sent request this morning. Obsessively checks email every 15 minutes to see if approval (or rejection) came through.
I *know* that‘s not how it works but still! I‘m in the mood for this book.
I received the egalley from netgalley yesterday for this book and oh my goodness! I almost read it in one full sitting. Another out of the ballpark hit for Christina Lauren! It comes out May 14th!!!
