Friday night reading...
⭐ I loved the suttle humor of Good Omens!
⭐ Lwft work early to spend time at the lake. First really warm day of the season. High expected is 87 and no rain after a very soggy winter and spring.
⭐ Will do!
Finished this audiobook today, and to be honest, I‘m completely torn about it. I really liked it, and yet I didn‘t ever get into it. I liked the characters and the funky humor, and at the same time, it all fell flat to me. I don‘t know why I‘m having such a difficult time forming an opinion with this one, but whatever I feel about it, I‘m glad that I read it!
#bookishbingo: Multiple authors
I got some really lousy news. I would like to crawl under my blanket and not come out for awhile, but I can‘t. So I bought myself a comfort read in a beautiful hardcover edition. Do you have a comfort read? Or an author that is your go to for when you just need something good?
"Forty min. later the cocoa was still untouched". ?? This is very frequent.
Taking this opportunity to post about a reread of Good Omens in prep for the series later this month. The audiobook leaves something to be desired, but its goofy good humor still shines through.
Have to say that the ability to post on Litsy from my computer is HUGE. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.
If you want to read a novel where evil is evil and good is good, do not read this book. If you are ready for a book written 30 years ago that is full the joys/pitfalls/beauty of humanity and the indestructible power of friendship, read this hilarious book. I may have laughed out loud (scaring strangers) when listening to the explanation of UK currency.
Good Omens is an immensely enjoyable story about two unlikely friends. An angel and a demon, two beings who would ordinarily be foes, find themselves teaming up to find the antichrist they‘ve most unfortunately misplaced. All the while in the hopes that maybe they can save this Earth they‘ve grown to love from its impending doom. Full of wit and relevant social commentary, it was a joy to read from start to finish
Reading some of the Graveyard book the other night made me crave more Neil Gaiman. Even though I just re-read Good Omens last year I figured with the tv show coming next month...why not again? 🤷♂️
So here I am. ❤️
Went for a stroll to grab some Tim's and now I'ma settle back with mah book. 🤗
Loved it again on the re-read. This kind of dark, clever, silly fun makes me so happy (like other Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams).
Ok so I‘m way slower reading when I‘m thinking about what sentences to mark-up! 5 days to go and 200 pages to read - time to power read! @mrsmarch I will be sure to mail with fastest service! #lmpbc #round5 #groupQ 👿 😇 it‘s a very funny book!
Happy World Book Day! I‘m currently reading Just Mercy, by Bryan Stevenson, and re-reading Good Omens, by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, for an online discussion group in anticipation of the upcoming digital series.* What are you reading now? #WorldBookDay #EveryDayIsDebbyBookDay
The Antichrist has been born, and the end of the world is near. But an angel and a demon, who are somewhat acquainted over their thousands of years on earth, kind of like things the way they are. Pretty darn funny.
For my neighborhood book club. We have one neighbor that is a hard-core Pratchett fan. She suggested this one as a break from all of the serious subjects that we usually read about, so Armageddon. 😂
I had a bit of a rough start into my fourth semester at university, with all the stress that is involved. I‘m very committed to finally read this book 📖, but it is difficult to concentrate and reading 80k words of fanfiction a day is just so much fun. I‘m reading a lot nowadays, just not published books 😅. I wish all Littens a Happy Easter 🐣!

I was hooked the first third of the book, but then it became a slog to read. The children's dialogue was tiresome. Loved Crowley and Aziraphale, though!
The upcoming show based on the book is going to be fantastic. The book itself, however, I feel guilty for not adoring it the way everyone else seems to. It should have been a lot shorter to keep up with the punchy and strong beginning.
So I finished this book last night. It‘s been on my tbr pile for years, but the upcoming tv series prompted me to read it. I loved Crowley and Aziraphale! I can‘t remember laughing out loud at a book that much maybe ever? But, I only did the first 40-50 pages and at the end. Unpopular opinion maybe, but the middle lagged for me with some of the other characters. While necessary to build the story, didn‘t really do it for me. Still glad I read it.
Thank you, @Pogue 😍😍 Love the books and bookmarks (they look like my cat 😻) And looove the dragon!! He‘s adorable! Amazing that he‘s hand made, you have amazing skills! He‘ll have a special place so he doesn‘t get hurt or damaged 😊
Thank you so so much @madamereadsalot1 for my amazing #SFFS package!!! I‘ve been wanting to read Good Omens so badly! The candle smells amazing! I‘m so excited to try the local coffee and treats! So perfect! Also, those socks omg. I‘m going to have to hide them from Dobby superfan @j9brown ! You‘re the best, had so much fun doing this swap with you as my partner! 🤗😘 #scififantasyswap @Avanders
Been a little quiet here the past few days. I was visiting my sister in West Hollywood and wanted to be present in the moment, not endlessly scrolling through various social medias. But I‘m back to my ordinary PNW life haha. And I have to say, my Litsy fam was the only one I really missed. Spending my day catching up with work and hopefully finishing Good Omens today. Happy Friday everyone!
I devoured the audiobook of Good Omens this past week. My friends have raved about it for years, but the upcoming series with David Tennant & Michael Sheen twisted my arm. The book is brilliant. I immediately listened to the February‘s Eclectic Readers podcast that I‘d saved for this. The Eclectic Readers make a great point that what elevates this book isn‘t just the humor but its smarts. I loved every scene with Aziraphale & Crowley together.
Oh man, I can't WAIT for the miniseries at the end of May! Neil and Terry are (were 😭) the perfect writing duo.
It would take a lot to faze a copper from the Met.
It would take, for example,a huge, battered car that was nothing more nor less than a fireball,a blazing, roaring, twisted metal lemon from hell, driven by a grinning lunatic in sunglasses, sitting amid the flames , trailing thick black smoke, coming straight at them through the lashing rain and the wind at eighty miles per hour.
That would do it every time.

I am so angry with myself that I had yet to read this book because I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! This was great and the humor was similar to The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy. If you haven‘t read this, I promise you won‘t be disappointed!
Somehow, I have not yet read this book. And, as the cover says, and Gaiman‘s Twitter feed makes clear, there is a tv series coming—I want to say on Amazon a Prime?!? I‘m a firm believer in reading it before you see it so it‘s definitely time to read this one. To the top of the TBR pile it goes!
Early morning flight necessities: tea and a good book. On my way to visit my little sister in West Hollywood and I‘m halfway there! She‘s lucky I love her, there‘s not many people I‘d fly this early for
I *might* have gone overboard at the libraries and Friends sale today.
Bandit was not so thrilled by this book, but I loved it. Demon Crowley and Angel Aziraphale, both living on Earth, find they have become friends, having more in common with each other than other denizens of Hell and Heaven. They have become comfortable with life on Earth and have developed an affection for humanity but Armageddon is coming. To stop it, they must kill the Antichrist, a normal 11 yo boy living in rural England. 5.0/5.0 🌟 #2019 💕
Really enjoying this read in advance of the Amazon Prime Show coming at the end of May. It has such wonderful casting. I can just hear David Tennant‘s voice when I read Crowley and Michael Sheen as -Aziraphale. Also, Benedict Cumberbatch plays Satan! Can‘t wait!
Who else is getting ready for this show? Can‘t wait to see it!
