My December #WrapUp
It was fun...
I just read whatever my mood was like, after finishing The Witching Hour
My favourite was definitely Wraith, makes me want to re-read NOS4R2
An awesome standalone graphic novel of Welcome To Christmasland series! It tells the origins of Charles Manx III and his inscape, Christmasland. Story is intriguing & illustrations are terrifyingly amazing!!!

While I did not enjoy this as much as Nos4a2 I did really enjoy learning more about Manx. It was interesting to see his back story and how Christmasland came to be. Now, while this does give us Manx's past and the beginnings of Christmasland I do recommend reading Nos4a2 first otherwise some of the story will be ruined for you.
I‘ve had this graphic novel sitting on my shelf for a few years now, finally got around to reading it. I loved this prequel to Joe Hill‘s NOS4A2. It delves into the history of Charlie Manx and Christmasland, how they each came to be.Highly recommend to fans of NOS4A2 and and want more of this amazing world. #TeamStoker #scarathlon #ScaryScavengerHunt prompt that scares you, the Christmasland kids are scary as heck! +11 pts
“If you can dream a thing, then it has a kind of reality in your thoughts. And if you dream hard enough, and have the right vehicle - a vehicle that you really love, a part of yourself - you can slip right out of reality and into that other, better, imaginary world, where the only reality is the one you allow.”

Wraith is a dark and brutal look into the life of Charlie Manx, what he went through, and how Christmasland was made.
It was bloody. It was creepy. It was action packed. This #graphicnovel was everything that I was hoping it would be!
If you read and enjoyed Joe Hill‘s NOS4A2, then you need to pick this one up!
If you like books that have gore, supernatural elements, and are creepy you need to read NOS4A2 and then read this graphic novel! I think reading the graphic novel first would be a spoiler for the book, so read the book first. The graphic novel is the backstory for Charlie Manx and his Wraith. You need to read both! Trust me, you won‘t regret it...you also won‘t think of Christmas the same afterwards. #24b4monday #readathon
Since we were already at the library I returned to 2 books and picked up my holds...even though I still had 10 library books at home. So I went from having 12 books checked out to 10 and then 14, in the same day. I have a problem you guys... 😅 💕📚💕🤓 #LitsyLovesLibraries #Bookaddiction #BookAddictProblems #LibraryBookHaul #bookHaul #TwinkyToles #mybrat #gingerbrat #Littenkitten #Tolesbrats #CatsofLitsy
I love twitter because you can reach out to writers (and illustrators!!) and they respond!
C.P Wilson was the illustrator for Wraith, and a damn fine one -6 that! It‘s so cool to be able to interact with people whose art you‘ve enjoyed.
Wraith is also incredible and recommend the creepy read to everyone who enjoys horror.

Productive Sunday: I finished And Then There Were None- an AMAZING read that I recommend to anyone who wants a fun book. I also convinced my husband to read The Stand finally!!!! One of my favs. My heart exploded today when I realized he bought it. Decided to read my Christmas gift from @KCorter at the end of this bookish January. Book 6, I feel so accomplished!
Ps- yes that is a sloth.

WOW WOW WOW!! As the prequel to his novel NOS4R2, I kinda knew what to expect but this graphic novel took things to another level. The illustrations are phenomenal - creepy, scary, just the right amount of gore - and the storyline was most satisfying, depicting the beginning of Christmasland and the development of Charlie Manx as one of the most scary ass horror characters ever. There simply aren't enough superlatives to describe this book.
#FavManga: Full disclosure- I actually haven‘t read any Manga. It‘s not something I‘ve really dove into... but my amazing Litsy secret Santa @KCorter sent me Wraith for Christmas this year! This is as close to Manga as I can get

Who would win the battle between these two child creepers? Stephen Kings Pennywise or Joe Hills Charles Manx ?
I‘m still shaking! Holy shit! Joe Hill is adorable and so awesome! Such a great guy!
I liked what this added to the novel - the background on Charlie Manx and new adventure to Christmasland. The only thing - I feel like when I was reading the novel, the kids were much scarier in my head, maybe because of the whole ornament-hook-as-teeth thing that was not present here. Overall, though, I enjoyed this a lot.
I absolutely adored NOS4A2, so giving this prequel Graphic Novel a try. I adore Joe Hill so this should be good.
Let me tell y'all about my friend Josie. I met her in Litsy last year right after I came here. It wasn't long before I realized that even though I was old enough to be her mother we were Bookish Soulmates. We talk every day and decided to send each other Birthday boxes. Soon we d coded that w couldn't wait until our Birthdays. Just another way we are alike. My box came today and it was literally full of things that I am in love with. Thanks Josie❤
This graphic novel is an excellent companion work to "Nos4a2" An original story, it is not a graphic novel adaptation of "Nos4a2" It dives deeper into the origins of Charles Manx. I noticed that next month a 400+ page Joe Hill graphic works collection is being released. "Wraith" is included, I will definitely be purchasing.
My #recommendsday picks are a few horror comics and manga for some creepy October reading. I loved Gyo; Junji Ito is a horror manga master so anything by him will be great! For fans of Joe Hill's NOS4A2, he worked with Gabriel Rodriguez (Locke and Key) to create Wraith, a standalone story about the origin of Charlie Manx.
Other chilling options are Wytches, Severed, Through the Woods (comics) and Drifting Classroom, Ajin, Devil's Line (manga). 👻
