peaKnit Oh, that‘s a hard one. Loss is such an important part of life but also, so hard. ❤️ I recall books being tough as a kid, and I think I was better for it. 2mo
peaKnit @TieDyeDude perfect response! I had a break down at the Fox and the Hound when I was 11. I was alone at the theater with my 13 year old boy cousin and he was traumatized by me🙂 we never spoke of it. 2mo

Spent a ton of money on books at the school book fair. I don‘t know who was more excited!

Listening to this gem. I would never have picked it up due to the cover. I know, I know. I shouldn‘t judge. Anyways I saw this photo on FB and thought of rowers. These are reported to be the hands of an Olympic rower after 1000m race.

DivineDiana Reading this for IRL book club next month. That is a striking photograph! I did not realize the toll of rowing on the hands! 13mo
Aims42 When “Lessons in Chemistry” was on BOTM, I skipped because the cover + description didn‘t strike my interest. After I saw how people were loving it and actually saying, “the cover doesn‘t match the story” the next month I added it to my box and LOVED IT!! 13mo
Prairiegirl_reading I felt the same way about this one. I had determined that it wasn‘t for me and then something made me get it and it‘s my favourite of the year! The cover does it a disservice for sure. What an interesting photo, I‘ve never considered what rowing would do to the rowers hands. 13mo

TheEllieMo Are you in the US? I saw Bonnie Garmus at a Literature Festival last month and she said she didn‘t like the US cover because it didn‘t reflect the book at all; I think the UK cover is much better 13mo
Mccall0113 @TheEllieMo yes, I‘m in the US. So glad you commented. Validation for my thoughts 13mo
CarolynM Ow! Ow! Ow! I‘d always thought it was rowers‘ stomach muscles that suffered most! 13mo
tpixie Wow about the photo! And I totally agree about the US cover! So misleading. I saw 3 posts about this book with 3 covers- that‘s what got me to look at and read this book. 12mo
