Name of the Wind (Revised)
Name of the Wind (Revised) | Patrick Rothfuss
There is a legend of a man of many names, of many talents. A musician, beggar, thief, student, alchemist and assassin. He is Maedre. He is E'lir - the clever one - he is Shadicar, Lightfinger and Six-String. But he is best known as Kvothe. Kvothe the Bloodless. Kvothe the Arcane. Kvothe Kingkiller.

I finally finished this sweeping epic fantasy novel. It was a bit of a slog for me. I would have enjoyed it more if we followed more than one story line. I am not sure that I will continue with the series. 2.5 🌟

Finally got a day to actually read, unfortunately it is because I am in bed sick.... but hey! A reading day is still a reading day! 📖 had to bail on my last book, just was not the right read for me... not sure if I will pick it back up later or not, but glad I get to read this amazing book! So far I‘m only about 1/4th of the way in and I absolutely love it! Can‘t wait to read what happens next 😁

Snuggles on Sunday and I‘m almost 500 pages into this. Technically a reread for me but I read it nearly 14 years ago so it‘s really like a brand new story again. #dogsoflitsy featuring Calli who obviously loves human contact.

I hate when things get cut off don‘t you 😜 I gues we could always fill in the blank, let our imagination run wild, guess by his expression, play Pictionary ... I‘ll leave that up to you 🤣🤣🤣🙌🏽💁🏼‍♀️

HOLY HOLY. I‘ve never read a book so fast. 11 days with 661 pages. That‘s incredible for me!! I don‘t even know where to begin. Everything was phenomenal and there is everything for everyone. The whole magic system is so unique and easy to understand. There are real consequences where I begged Kvothe not to do/go something/somewhere. Drew me in. This is a book that should be read by everyone. I LOVE IT. Top contender of my favorite read this year!

Rothdell And yes, I‘m going to buy the second one as soon as I can!! 2mo

It took me a long time to enjoy this book. The book is based in a world with little context of it. But after I got into the story, it really took off. The story is a high recommend but with the caveat that it is a series but the third book is pending. Apparently, the author is playing the George RR Martin and not getting the book out.

Took a week off to reset my mind (what I tell myself so I can watch tv and play games), but girl, it feels good to read again!! I don‘t have much fantasy on my timeline, but this book is a gift from my old co-worker. I‘m only 34 pages in and I‘m already hooked! 630 more pages to go!

DrexEdit Beware its the first of three and the third book is not done yet. It doesn't bother me, but I know some people don't like starting a series they can't finish! 😊 2mo
LauraJ I did the same thing last week. It was lovely to read and watch tv with no guilt! 2mo
Rothdell @DrexEdit I actually prefer it this way! I like to be with the fan base and share the hype when the finale drops. When is the new one suppose to hit? “Edit: spelling/grammar” (edited) 2mo
DrexEdit @Rothdell well, I marked it “to read” on goodreads in 2014. 😜 there have been some rumors that 2020 will be the year though. Patrick Rothfuss has a huge fan-base so there‘s likely to be lots of hype! 2mo

This is a fun story. I know that, currently, there are only two books in the series, but it seems like there could be ten eventually. Is it just me?

readingjedi @ThalassaLuna There are A LOT of people who love this series - you might love it too! I'm always wary of starting unfinished series as well - the last part of this one has been pending for a loooong while. 3mo

ThalassaLuna @readingjedi Honestly, that was my biggest concern too. I usually like to wait until the entire series is out, but it doesn't look like it will be anytime soon for this one. So now I'm getting pre-angry that I won't be able to finish the story haha 3mo

I wanted a change of pace with something different and this one delivered!

I enjoyed the relaxed pace that allows the tale to unfold naturally and unrushed. If you're looking for fast-paced action, this is not going to be a good fit but if you want to take some time and get to a few interesting characters and be walked through the making of a hero then check out this book.

GingerAntics Your library has skip the line loans? Seriously? I‘m sure the person who currently has it is enjoying it, and I don‘t want to rush them or anything, but I do. For you. lol 4mo
SimplyShelia @GingerAntics I just started seeing them a few weeks ago, I'm not sure when they started them but it's been great, it's how through the Throne of Glass series so quickly. Maybe the person next in line has already borrowed the limit or something? Thank you for rooting for me lol 4mo
8little_paws I love this picture! But I admit I absolutely hated this book. 4mo
GingerAntics They haven‘t added an option to hold off on your hold, have they? That would actually be nice. Instead of passing completely and going to the back of the line, just let the person behind you have it, then when they‘re done you can have it. 4mo
SimplyShelia @8little_paws Thanks it's from am area not far from where I'm from. It's called Stone Face, it's just over the border going from Kentucky into Virginia. As for the book, everyone likes what they like and even that changes sometimes throughout life. 4mo
SimplyShelia @GingerAntics That would be nice but there's only the option to suspend hold, I'm not entirely sure if you go to the back of the line with that. 4mo
GingerAntics I don‘t think we even have that. That‘s a nice little feature, whatever ends up happening. A hold for your hold. lol I‘d like to put a hold on my holds please. 4mo

Magical Systems. On Goodreads, I found a list of some books with Magical Systems. This is only a couple of them. I haven‘t read these books but I‘ve heard that they‘re good. I‘ve seen that people have been complaining because Patrick Rothfuss hasn‘t finished the #kingkillerchronicle series yet. I‘d like to read the first book but I‘m going to wait for awhile because I‘m already in the middle of a Fantasy series right now that I like.

This book has been on my TBR for so long, I even have a paperback copy, but have been hesitant to start because it is SO long. I‘ve been looking for another good long audiobook to listen to now that I‘ve finished going through the whole Harry Potter series.

I‘m about 11 chapters in so far (out of 94?!), and really enjoying. The narrator does great voices, and the intro of the story was really enticing. Excited for this audiobook journey!

I was recommended this book by my penpal. And I was hesitant at first but all I heard were good things about it.& it was fantastic. I love the different arcs that are taken throughout. First person for the story and third for the present. I really loved the different vocabulary that was used. I already ordered the second book and right now the third is set to come out next year and I really hope it doesn't get put off again cause that would suck.

Read 400 pages of this yesterday which I think is a record for me. About a quarter of that at the thermal pools (school holidays!) Who else has thermal pools in their city? These ones are pretty dated but my bones enjoyed the heat 🔥
