I decided to give this 2nd book a shot after reading the first with #littensloveromance and being underwhelmed. This one was better enough that I'm giving it a soft pick. The story was easier to follow and there was more action to move the war plot along. The two love interests didn't have any conflict between them and felt instalove once again, but I was expecting it this time and they did have a bit more depth to their characters. ⤵️

Kshakal This is good to know… thanks for the review! now
peanutnine I'm cautiously optimistic for the next book, as it seems the next couple will maybe have a more enemies to lovers vibe. We'll see... now

LiseWorks You had courage to read the next one of this series lol now
peanutnine @Kshakal you're welcome! @LiseWorks glad to take one for the team 😅 now
MoonWitch94 I read this one, too. And while I liked it definitely more than the first one, I don‘t think I will continue the series. I do think they have more depth and chemistry, though. now
TheSpineView Great job sticking with it. now

Got up early, really early for a Sunday. Wanted to get some reviews done. #GhostCat is not willing to budge though. Guess it's #audioknitting o'clock for the moment.

Good thing I had book 13 of the Dresden Files ready.

I picked this up from #MountTBR after reading @DGRachel's review. I couldn't put it down and was grumpy when I had to.

Finlay Donovan is a writer, divorcee, single mum and her life seems to be falling apart. Then a woman at the next table overhears her conversation with her agent and sees the content of her bag and comes to the wrong-right conclusion that Finlay might be the perfect killer for hire. Hands-on research for her new novel?

⬇️

julesG Will definitely pick up the second book in the series soon. #SeriesLove2023 @TheSpineView @Andrew65 6h

This is the third book in The Monstrumologist series. I love this series and I hope that in 5 or 6 years my nephew is interested in horror so I can gift him these books and the same for my niece in 10 years or so. 🤞🏻
I don‘t think I mentioned it in my review of the second book, but Steven Boyer‘s narration is excellent. #Booked2023 #aboutamonster

Just a tiny bit sad to move on to the last book. #SeriesLove2023

This is the second book in the Gods of Hunger trilogy/series. I can‘t tell if there will be another book. I enjoyed Hephaestus and Aphrodite‘s story even more than Hades and Persephone‘s. We are already familiar with the world so this one just takes off. It has all the sexiness but is also more action packed than the first book. I don‘t want to say a lot because this was sent as an extra #LMPBC book to #GroupR. 🙂#SeriesLove2023

Bookzombie @sprainedbrain @KristiAhlers @Reggie I have effed up a bit. I should have sent this one much earlier to Jenni instead of with January‘s book. I think when I send the third one it will make everyone have to mail an extra book. Do ya‘ll still want me to pass it along? 8h
Reggie I‘m down for it if the people before me are down. 8h
sprainedbrain Absolutely fine with it! 3h

"She had already been to hell. One prayer more or less wouldn't make any difference."

I meant to read this in 2022 as my pick for non-patriarchal society, but ran out of time. I‘m so pleased I didn‘t set it aside, because I loved this!

It‘s also really hard to summarize. The planet is still fighting a centuries-long war. Nyx, formerly a queen‘s assassin, is a bounty hunter who will take any job. She has a team of mercenaries.⬇️

Bookzombie It‘s also really hard to summarize. The planet is still fighting a centuries-long war. Nyx, formerly a queen‘s assassin, is a bounty hunter who will take any job. She has a team of mercenaries. The world is so interesting and I was completely absorbed. Another Litsy reviewer used “bugpunk” to describe it and that‘s accurate. There are so many bugs, lol. #Booked2023 #anypartofatrilogy #SeriesLove2023 because now I have to finish the trilogy. 🙂 12h

I re-read this book before reading the new one in the series. In subtle ways you can tell it wasn‘t M C Beaton that wrote the book, with subtle changes to people, and relationships. However I have to say I enjoyed this more than the recent ones in the series. Could have been a good place to leave the series, but I am interested to see where the new writer takes Hamish next. #SeriesLove2023 @TheSpineView

Book 1 read for #FabulousFebruary

Tove_Reads Haven‘t read Hamish for years 18h
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads It‘s taken me the best part of 10 years to get through the series. 17h
TheSpineView I have a couple I need to read again too. Well done 16h
Andrew65 @TheSpineView Sometimes you need to re-read to find where you are up to in a series after a big break from a series. (edited) 16h
TheSpineView @Andrew65 Yes, especially when it is years between books! 15h
