I spent a lot of this month reading through the comics I got for Christmas! The 63 page book was Beauty Salon by Mario Bellatin and the longest was The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. 99% sure my February longest will be the sequel. I didn't include written by women because I'm embarrassed to say it was... apparently... 1 book. No excuses for that At All. I will do better in February.

My self control took a day off so I spent $20 of my Christmas money on this book even though I could have gotten it for closer to $5 if I'd waited for it to come in at work. But reading it is fun and I have 2+ animals on top of me at all times so no complaints 😅Featured here are Frodo and Tyrion.

tjwill I'm reading his Challenger Deep right now, but this one is on my TBR. I hope it's worth spending your Christmas money! 3y

OH MAN THIS BOOK THAT ENDING AHHHHHH. I liked it so much I think I'm going to go out and buy a copy to keep after I return this to the library tomorrow.

Shmemilina I just started reading this but I got to the part where Arsinoe burns Jules' braid and her mom is all "oh what have you done to our Jules!" and now I'm afraid to go on! ? 3y
Ian @Shmemilina I felt the same way at that part!!! I even skipped ahead to skim the next few chapters about her to see what would happen. It wasn't as bad as I was afraid it would be if that helps! 3y
tianatable I found it painfully predictable. Her name is arsinoe for goodness sake. Arsine. Which is poisonous. 2 chapters in and I knew how it was going to end. 3y
Shmemilina Wait omg I just finished. Obsessed. When does the sequel come out?!?!?! I need it now!!! Lol 3y

So I've started collecting the Barnes & Noble leather bound editions. They're not the best quality but they come in used at my bookstore and I can usually grab them for like $5-10 with my discount. This is my spreadsheet of the ones I'm looking for. Green means I really want it, prices are based on current Amazon rates. Basically I feel like the nerdiest human ever today.

OSChamberlain Ugh I wanted them all so badly but there's so many I just can't keep up. I have a bunch of them already, though. Like the Dante, Hemingway, and Arabian Nights. 3y

Oh boy I sure did like this one. For once, a story about a fat character that isn't about trying to lose the weight and/or fit in & make friends. Drama occurs, mistakes are made, beauty queens are crowned, and drag queens are consulted. So fun. Hit a little close to home in places but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I loved this book. It's the story of a woman who loses everything from a bunch of different perspectives. It's sad but it doesn't reach the level of emotional-ness that Everything I Never Told You does. That's not a criticism; if every sad book was as sad as EINTY I'd never read sad books.
