Today's book. Really good so far. Topic aside, she's such an enjoyable writer, I want to go find her novels now.

Book 2, out of this month's (hopefully) 10-Book goal. I thought I'd read all the Vimes books, but somehow missed this one! I'll hopefully finish it today.

Just finished this. What a strange, slow book, which refused to become less elusive as the ending approached. The power of the writing and characters kept me going though, and I really dug it.

A very short book which, like a TARDIS, is a lot bigger on the inside than it seems. Very clever, albeit with lots of worrying talk about the future. Pardon me while I blow up the internet and hide in the hills now...

Volume 2 is as good as volume 1. Clunky in places, but really fun storytelling, and the sort of improbable-but-logical conclusion that only the Doctor would dream up. Really surprised at how good this story was.

The Doctor and the Enterprise-D team up against the Borg and the Cybermen. Such a stupid premise, but surprisingly well-written, faithful to both series' tones, AND the art is great.

An excellent, clever, very elusive sort of horror novel with a fascinating ending, and which really deserves a better cover than it's been saddled with here. Definitely recommended.

Suzze I cannot wait to hear about this. On the B&N employee group, there were a lot of employee complaints about not getting any support from the company for this. No money, no nothing. They were told to find a band to play and come up with crafts, etc. This is what happened with the Frozen event when I was still working and in charge of the kids department. They gave us a few things to make copies of and we 3y

Peterdamien @Suzze holy buckets, that's insane. I had NO idea. They put together fun stations here (which, I now realize, were ingeniously cheap) and found a really talented local singer. Amazingly done. I never would've realized there was no budget. 3y

I hadn't realized til this big reread how much The Dark Tower books feel like just a straight channeling of King's subconscious storytelling brain onto the page, more than anything else he's done. Hence, I think, the surreal quality the books pick up. #DarkTowerDecember
