#DecDays Another book that will earn a spot on my #bestbook2017 list... On October 12, 1972, a plane carrying a team of young rugby players crashed into the remote, snow-peaked Andes. Out of the forty-five original passengers and crew, only sixteen made it off the mountain. Despite the freezing #cold conditions & dire circumstances the survivors made a pact . This true story of resilience, courage, belief & friendship is awe inspiring 🙌🏻❤️

Bookzombie I read this in high school. It was actually assigned, but I loved it. 6y
TrishB Good choice 👍🏻 6y

Exit West: A Novel | Mohsin Hamid

Pickpick

I feel like there were a lot of zombie literature parallels in this book. Anyways, I thought this book was great. Nadia and Saeed leave their unstable, not named country, through a door, one of many, that leads elsewhere. Mohsin was brilliant at showing the creeping horror of instability that leads to migration to the uncertainty of a new country to all the changes it means for a person‘s self. He covers so much, beautifully. #TOBLonglist

RohitSawant Wonderfully put! 6y

Reggie @rohit-sawant @Cinfhen Thanks, he managed to pack so much in such a short book. I love his writing. 6y
Reggie Thanks @Ms_T I hope you like it. 6y
Cinfhen I agree, Reggie!! I really loved this one 6y
readordierachel Great review! I loved this book. 6y
Lindy I‘ve been narrowing down my favourites of 2017 and this is one of them. @ReadingEnvy wants to know about just one, but I‘m stuck at my top 13. 😐 6y
Reggie @Lindy lol, yeah, that top thirteen can be rough. I had about 5 favorites I read this year but there are some books that talk to me every couple days that I read months ago. And they keep talking to me and make me think about them. Do any books talk to you still more than the others? 6y
Lindy @Reggie I LIKE the way you describe that phenomenon. It‘s the books that stay with me that I value most. 6y
ReadingEnvy @Lindy if you're recording, it's everything you can fit into five minutes ;) 6y
Lindy @ReadingEnvy That‘s good to know, thanks. My project for today. 😊 6y
Reviewsbylola I wanted to love this but it just didn‘t work for me. 6y
Reggie @Reviewsbylola why do you think it didn‘t work for you? 6y
Reviewsbylola I just didn‘t connect with the writing style and I didn‘t like the magical realism aspect. But I generally hate magical realism. 6y

It will likely come as a surprise to zero people that The Song of Achilles is the best book I've read this year. It's now one of my favorite books ever... I still think about it all the time and can't stop posting about it. Sorry not sorry. 😃

Thanks @CharissaWeaksAuthor for starting this #BestBook2017 ! Can't wait to see everyone's responses.

A Tale For The Time Being was my best book of 2017 (so far) followed closely by Pachinko and The Forgotten Garden.

It was incredibly cathartic for me. All the interwoven story threads created a rich tapestry that tackled the meaning of life and humanity from so many lenses & angles. I got lost in this book and found myself again at the end✨
