Running more errands today 📖
Wow! Thank you so much @Gissy for the amazing #Swoonathon package! So excited to read both these books!
This was a super cute enemies-to-lovers rom-com set at a small town Ren Faire. Simon and Emily's banter becomes flirtation when they are in character at the Faire. Are they just playing a part or is it something more? I related to Emily, who struggles with insecurities and asking for what she wants. I'm adding this and the next two books to my #SeriesRead2022 @TheSpineView
This was a fun read! Emily stays with her sister and niece to help out after her sister is in a car accident. She has to volunteer to help with the summer Renaissance Faire in order for her niece to be involved.
How I spent my Sunday. I stayed away from social media and read the whole book in one day. I haven't done that in a few years. It was the perfect light frothy romance I needed and I loved it. I'll be sure to read the next two. Another 329 pages for #NovelNovember for a total of 681 of my 700-page goal. Also #Frenemies for #Booked2021 @Andrew65 @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft
Despite this typically being my least favorite genre, I really enjoyed it. Emily moves in with her sister after, her sister has a car accident to help take care of her and her niece. Then to make her niece happy she agrees to join a Renaissance Fair for the summer. Love and chaos ensues also hot guys dressed as pirates or in kilts 💚

Finding love at the Ren Fen was a super easy read, very predictable, and it matched my reading mood …Back in the 80s and the for first three years of my marriage we spent weekends from Labor to Columbus Day in a booth at the KC Ren Fen - and the rest of the year preparing for it. It was fun and our next booth neighbors remain among my closest friends. …And omg my RenFen mugs are 40 years old!

This romance was so sweet. Emily is spending her summer in Willow Creek to help out her sister after a car accident. She ends up having to volunteer in the community's renaissance fair so her niece can also participate. Over the course of the summer Willow Creek turns into home, as she starts having feelings for the ren fair's organizer Simon.
Finally catching up on my July #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
This book was perfect! From laugh out loud moments to steamy scenes and everything in between, I didn‘t want to put it down. I can‘t wait to read the next book in this series!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #BOTM
I didn‘t get the book open for more than a few seconds when my sweet girl, Mia decided to join me 🖤🐈⬛🥰

I listened to the audiobook on Audible. Delightful - fun story set at a local renaissance faire.
Excited for my July #bookspinbingo with Well Met by Jen DeLuca as my #bookspin and The Merchant and the Rogue by Sarah M. Eden as my #doublebookspin

Every time I read this book, I just miss going to the Ren Fest. Also, Emily's trajectory and her flirtation with Simon is SO good! #romcom
Lately I‘ve been finding myself reading a rom-com between fantasy books. They‘re a nice palate cleanser before I dive back into another unknown world, I guess. Well Met was a fun and cute read - from the setting (small town summer renaissance fair) to the characters (Emily and Simon and all their love/hate banter and flirting). The best kind of summer read right here!
I didn't love this as much as I'd hoped to but it did leave me entertained.
Time to try this one again. Didn't catch my interest the first time. We'll see how it goes this time.
I met Jen De Luca for brunch today, and it was so fun! Love chatting books with a delightful author.
I never would have guessed a book taking place at a renaissance faire would be my thing, but this book has sucked me in so much I want to take a sick day and just read! I have to find out what happens with the black leather clad pirate...
So I‘ve been in a contemporary romance kinda mood lately, and I read The Hating Game by Sally Thorne and The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren. They‘re both great, fun reads, but this one I feel is gonna easily become one of my favorites. I‘m only a 2 chapters in and I‘ve already laughed out loud like 3 or 4 times. And I already love the main character, her sense of humor and her love for and protectiveness over her niece.
My first DNF in a long time.. idk if it‘s just the fact that I‘m not in the mood for a corny rom com or if I just didn‘t enjoy the story line, but I bailed about 25% in. 🤷🏻♀️ Maybe I‘ll give it ago again some day..
This was really cute! Thanks @LiteraryinLititz for lending it! Gave me major drama club flashbacks, for better or worse LOL. I felt badly for how insecure Emily was, and I felt like as a reader I was able to predict all the times she misread things, but I still really enjoyed it! Would totally read other books by DeLuca.
Proud of myself that I finished two books yesterday! I enjoyed this one a lot more than The Switch. This book could easily have been overly cheesy or dramatic, given the Ren Fair setting, but I thought the author did an excellent job of incorporating the theatrical Ren Faire elements without it seeming silly. Also, it was refreshing to see a realistic timeline for the love interests and them finally realizing their feelings for each other.
I did open this yesterday but then I spaced in posting (New Year‘s hangover anyone else??) @A_planNerd this was a great box!! I love the fuzzy socks and bath stuff is my jam and all these books sound soooo good! Thanks for making my New Year‘s quit a lot better! (PS I didn‘t take pictures of the wrapping but it was GORGEOUS!!) #bestof2020
Such a cute story! I love Emily and how honest the character is about her feelings.
Thank you so much for the joy and support today! If you‘re awake and around tonight, come join me and two of my author friends, Jen DeLuca and Jesse Sutanto at the Ripped Bodice (uh online!)
Jen‘s novels set at a RennFaire are some of my favorite comfort reads, and Jesse is a 2021 debut! We‘ll be chatting at 9PM CST/7PM PST tonight on www.Facebook.com/therippedbodicela
A lovely, sweet slow burn romance with a side of self discovery. Simon is an intriuging character, I joined the dots on bits of his backstory faster that Emily did but I think that I was meant to. I‘ve never been to a Ren Faire but that‘s not a problem because it‘s so well described that you can really picture it. I am basically assuming all of their “English” accents are as awful as a group of Brits trying to do American accents would be tho!
This was adorable!! The best part was the setting at a local small town renaissance fair!! Something I‘ve always wanted to attend but never have. It‘s a cute little romance with lots of fun characters and a good enough storyline to keep you interested. It‘s not stellar, but it‘s what you‘d expect for this kind of thing 🤗 this audiobook lifted my spirits through a week with lots of overtime work. I will definitely check out the sequels

Loved this book! So cute, Ren Faire, Shakespeare, sort of enemies to lovers. Emily can‘t stand Simon, she thinks he hates her, but when he‘s playing the pirate and she‘s playing a tavern wrench at Ren Faire, sparks fly. There‘s a lot more to it but I don‘t want to spoil anything!
I enjoyed this romance novel but I have to acknowledge a few things upfront. First, it is SO predictable. Every aspect of it. And Emily is oblivious AF - to an unrealistic, almost obnoxious degree. But her faults & insecurities are more than realistic; they‘re familiar. I, along with many readers, I‘m sure, have been there before. I‘ve felt like I wasn‘t good enough. So Emily, former English major Emily, was impossible *not* to root for.👇🏻
This was cute. The writing was solid, & the setting was especially great. There were lots of great flirty moments between the two leads, even if the chemistry didn‘t make it to the swoony parts. I liked the main characters well enough, though the narrator‘s insecurities grated a teeny bit towards the end. I think the missing ingredient for me was humor — sure, I smiled here & there, but not enough to make this book memorable or really fun. ★★★☆☆.
#currentlyreading | I loooooove a good “annoyed-at-first-sight” romance! Let‘s hope this is a good romp ♥️
Sweet and funny with a smidge of heartbreak. A great read to celebrate my big conference being over and successful. No more 70 he work weeks; I get my life back and plan to spend most of the next month reading!
Very impatiently awaiting Mitch's story.
4-star rom-com. Fresh out of a relationship with a total douchebag, Emily goes to small-town Maryland to help her sister April and niece Caitlyn after a car accident. Emily ends up volunteering at a local Renaissance Faire used as a fundraiser with Caitlyn. It's there she meets the insufferable & cranky Simon, high school English teacher and main man in charge of the Faire. Once they're in their roles ⬇️
Here I present you my lofty goals for #CrushTheRush and #ProgressItNovember 🤯
I can totally do this. If I break it up by month, then by week, these are achievable. I mean, some are graphic novels and others don't even need to be re-read, just reviewed.
🔥🔥Everything is fine🔥🔥
