This is my next audio! I was really excited when I saw my library app had this available. I just stacked this a few days ago from someone here on Litsy. #LitsyForTheWin #SorryICantRememberWhoSoICanThankThem 🤦‍♀️

I know this was a good book... but I'm in such a slump lately. I'm pushing through and nothing is standing out to me! I'm in need of recommendations!

Prairiegirl_reading I wish I had a good slump buster for you. 😞 The only thing that worked for me lately was to try not to think about books and watch every single episode of rupaul‘s drag race I could find. I don‘t necessarily recommend that specifically, just saying I empathize. My reading brain just needed a break. 5mo
readordierachel When I'm slumping hard, I usually reread a favorite. It can be comforting to read something I know I'm gonna enjoy 5mo

I just thought this was ok... I'm trying to clean up my "reading" list on goodreads. My library switched ebook/audio book systems a few months ago. I miss our old system. We did use Overdrive. I'm sloooooowly getting used to cloud library. Do any if you use it?

rabbitprincess My hometown library switched to CloudLibrary and I find the interface clunky and the catalogue less well stocked than the old Overdrive catalogue 😕 12mo
TravelsWithBooks I use Libby. 12mo
kricheal @rabbitprincess is there a way to request books on there. I haven't figured it out yet. I know on Overdrive I could request up to 99 books they didn't have in their catalog a day. 12mo
See All 13 Comments
kricheal @TravelsWithBooks I used to be able to switch between Overdrive and Libby with no issue because they were both supported. They reportedly made the switch for "more content"... I'm not a fan. 12mo
Myhusbandhatesreading I have both available but still use Overdrive…it‘s just what I‘m used too. I know at some point I am sure our library will switch totally over to Libby too. 😕 12mo
Jennaree3 I agree. I thought this book was good, but certainly not great. People raved about it and I was waiting for some great creative work of literary prowess…which, unfortunately, never came 😆 12mo
kricheal @Jennaree3 I think the hype made me rate it lower than I would have normally. I felt so let down. 12mo
rabbitprincess @kricheal I haven‘t found a way, but I haven‘t looked for one. My hometown library is my « backup » library so I don‘t use it very often. 12mo
kricheal @rabbitprincess what do you use if you don't mind me asking? I think I'm going to look elsewhere. 12mo
rabbitprincess @kricheal My main library (Ottawa, ON) is an Overdrive/Libby library. 12mo
absolutebookish My library did the same a while back & I'm still not happy about it. It glitches a lot: highlights & notes disappear, books close randomly or have trouble downloading, dictionary doesn't always work, app shuts down. 😖 What I do for requests is go to SEARCH, click the FILTERS at the top right, & switch the toggle on for SUGGESTIONS FOR LIBRARY. Then when you search titles your library doesn't have, you can click SUGGEST so your library can get it. 12mo
kricheal @absolutebookish thank you! 12mo

This book... what an uncomfortable read! The absolute control and power an abuser can have over one they abused for so many years. What did you all think?

This was between a pick and so-so. I'll lean towards pick because I like reading about other people's lives. Her tough love stance on getting over trauma is just toxic positivity. Her book is something I wouldn't usually pick, I didn't know anything about her other than she had this book. I'm glad I read it, but I doubt I'll read anything more by her. #21 #2020

LibrarianRyan Not trying to be a downer, but most of these from facebook were proven to be a type of pyramid scheme. I would want to know exactly how it works. This does not sound like a typical swap. The reason I ask this is MATH. if you only give one book, how can you expect multiple in return unless someone is getting none?

There just needs to be a lot more information on how this would work.
2y
kricheal @LibrarianRyan Even if you bought a book, and then received a book. I don't see the downside in that- it's a swap. It's fun. It's also not that serious. I have the info, which I received from my cousin who is also on litsy, she received from a person she worked with. You could email me, I could tell you how it works. I can't put the info on here as it contains private addresses. If no one does it that's ok too. It looks like fun. 2y
kricheal Anyone interested can email me for information kristenricheal@gmail.com They're no strings attached even if you're just curious to find out how it works. Let's do something #positive and cut out all the negativity! 2y
