eeclayton @ElizaMarie I agree that Mr G is rather late. It's weird that he tends to (both him and Mrs K actually) treat Molly like a little child but expect her to behave in a mature way. Also, Lydia Bennet had been married for over a year when she was Molly's age. Not that she'd be a good role model, I'm just comparing life stages. 3d

eeclayton @Cuilin manipulation is one thing, but what really bugs me is that she doesn't want to invite her own daughter to the wedding so that she can't outshine her. Just awful. And then there's the matter of the cheese!

For all the messaging this book had about writing as a mechanism for telling a deeper, personal truth, I expected it to dig far deeper into its own characters. I was invested in them all, and I loved the setting, but some of the pain points felt only touched on, not fully processed. Well, it is 2pm where we live on the last day of the year and I have not read 100 books. Let's be honest. I did not think I actually would. It was a lot of books to read at the last minute. I did read 90 books which is more than last year and I'm pretty satisfied with that! I think I'll spend some time today trying to finish up the tagged book so I can start the new year with a new book! 🥂
