Lcsmcat Any Keeping Up Appearances fans here? Because Hyacinth! 😂🤣😂 3d
Cuilin I‘m not sure I would want to get between Mr. Gibson and his cheese. Also, I‘m trying to be understanding of Hyacinth, as women in the 19th century if they were not ever so slightly manipulative, they could be coerced into anything. I‘m not sure cheese is the hill I‘d want to die on though. 3d

mcctrish Good lord help us all from Hyacinth! Is it too late to call the whole thing off? Let‘s just find Molly a husband instead of 3d
Cuilin @Lcsmcat bouquet (Bucket) residence Lady of the house speaking”. I keep thinking of her too. (edited) 3d
BarkingMadRead @cuilin I would definitely choose a better hill 🤷🏻‍♀️ 3d
willaful Cheese is the hill I would die on, as in I will die for cheese!
3d
Bookwormjillk @Cuilin you are so right about the cheese. 3d
peanutnine Uh oh Roger is paying attention to Molly....the squire would not approve 3d
ElizaMarie @willaful I‘ll die right next to you —- #ForCheese #CheeseIsLife 3d
ElizaMarie Does Molly even need a mother? Isn‘t Mr Gibson too late in thinking this would be “good” for her? Excuses? 3d
BarkingMadRead @ElizaMarie yeah I think he waited a smidge too long 🤣 3d
willaful @ElizaMarie I once told someone that I don't trust people who don't like cheese and I'd say I was justified! 3d
Clare-Dragonfly Some women are dripping with diamonds / Some women are dripping with pearls / Lucky me, lucky me, look at what I‘m dripping with / Little girls! (edited) 3d
eeclayton @ElizaMarie I agree that Mr G is rather late. It's weird that he tends to (both him and Mrs K actually) treat Molly like a little child but expect her to behave in a mature way. Also, Lydia Bennet had been married for over a year when she was Molly's age. Not that she'd be a good role model, I'm just comparing life stages. 3d
eeclayton @Cuilin manipulation is one thing, but what really bugs me is that she doesn't want to invite her own daughter to the wedding so that she can't outshine her. Just awful. And then there's the matter of the cheese!
Come to think of it, I wonder what kind of person Cynthia will turn out to be.
3d
Lcsmcat @Clare-Dragonfly 😂🤣 3d
Cuilin @eeclayton yeah not wanting your daughter around because she might outshine you, is problematic. 3d
Bklover @Clare-Dragonfly 🧡😂🧡😂 3d
rubyslippersreads @Lcsmcat That‘s exactly who I thought of. 2d

BarkingMadRead @mcctrish it really does 🤣 4mo
willaful Man, what a depressing chapter. I hope Esther is going to get some help but I kind of doubt it. :-\ 4mo
BarkingMadRead @willaful I‘m worried that she will think she doesn‘t need it 4mo
Deblovestoread Mrs. Kravitz! 4mo
Clare-Dragonfly @BarkingMadRead Same! Or that the shrink will be terrible… 4mo
Bookwormjillk I‘m with you all hoping she gets the help she needs. 4mo
tpixie @Deblovestoread 😝 @BarkingMadRead Mrs Kravitz!!! 🧙 I LOVED Bewitched 4mo
willaful @Clare-Dragonfly I think it's almost guaranteed that the shrink will be terrible. 😞 4mo
Deblovestoread I loved Bewitched, too! @tpixie I was glad the family doc didn‘t just throw more pills at her. Hopefully her referral is a good one! 4mo
dabbe Esther has never had anything below an “A“ in her life. She wins contests, too. Not getting into the summer class was her complete undoing. I'm almost scared now to read more.

BTW, do they live in a house in Boston? If so, why do the mom and Esther share the same bedroom? Or am I wrong in that assumption?

TheAromaofBooks Waaaaaayy too casual about eating raw hamburger + raw egg 😂 4mo
ElizaMarie Buddy !!! #RunForYourLifeNurse !! Hopefully he doesn't seduce that poor nurse who he “falls in love“ with. I mean. poor girl to be sucked into him! I am #proud Ester put her foot down with that one! 4mo
julieclair @mcctrish Maybe the Lark Rose vibe was why Esther got on my last nerve in this chapter! 😂. But then I reached the end of the chapter and felt guilty about her getting on my nerves. She does need someone who can help her. I do hope the psychiatrist turns out to be a good one. But I'm fearful 4mo

“He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.” OMG! Have a book-blogging friend who kept track of this when she encountered such an occurrence in books. It always makes me think of her. She isn‘t in Litsy; cannot find her anyway. Fond thoughts of book friends this morning! Esther assisting. #DogsofLitsy #whpg

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘d love to see her research on that! 5y
BkClubCare @Riveted_Reader_Melissa - I believe she was appalled and curious about what it signifies, why it is often used in literature? 5y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @BkClubCare Yes! That sounds like it should have been developed into a great paper! I‘m sure it‘s in literature meant to be a shortcut to “he cares”, but in reality “he feels entitled to touch her” or “fix her”. 🤷‍♀️ 5y
BkClubCare @Riveted_Reader_Melissa - Ah, YEP. That is is my take on it. “Dude, my hair is fine. No need to touch me right at this moment” 5y
