Kingdom of Ash
Kingdom of Ash | Sarah J. Maas
Aelin Galathynius's epic journey from salt mine slave to king's assassin comes to an unforgettable, dramatic conclusion in this highly anticipated finale to Sarah J. Maas's New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series! Captured by the Queen of the Fae, Aelin is trapped inside an iron box in a secret location, with seemingly no hope for escape. As she endures months of torture, her friends scatter to different fates. Without Aelin to protect them, soldier Aedion and shapeshifter Lysandra need to defend their homeland at all costs. Also left to forge their own paths in order to change history are Chaol, the witch Manon, and the golden boy Dorian-while Aelin's mate, the fae male Rowan, searches the world over for his lost love. As Aelin gathers the strength to save herself and fight the ultimate battle of her life, all of their destinies hang in the balance. Some ties will bond even tighter together, others will be severed forever, and mysteries will be revealed in this action-packed, heart wrenching series finale.

I enjoyed this finale to a brilliant series. Sometimes it went on a bit and some of the themes were repetitious, perhaps because I‘ve read the ‘Court Of…‘ series (which I prefer, with some caveats). I wished Aelin would stop smirking! Quite how Dorian got hold of Damaris at one point distracted me. Oddly this wasn‘t my favourite of the series, but it was great to have everything come together. SJM‘s imagination + story arc over 7 books phenomenal.

Unpopular opinion

There were too many POVs and characters and there wasn't any kind of recap in the beginning. I hated the beginning for that reason, it was hard to get into this book.

This was plain boring and felt long because almost nothing happened. I think I have been spoiled by better fantasy and in this book battles were underwhelming.

Repetitive and wordy.

I mean...based on my screen name, it wasn't going to be anything else. Lol I want more books in this world, maybe based on the offspring of Aelin and Rowan as well as the children from the other paired couples in this series. A new crew.

Also based on the events of the end of Crescent City 2 (not saying more), I'm hoping for certain other things. Being as vague as possible.

1) I did have a few series' that hit me emotionally like that, not necessarily a specific book: The Eragon series had some moments for me, Auroras End, certain moments in the Throne of Glass series.
2) Fantasy (then Sci Fi, near tie)
3) Very hard to choose just one but: Kingdom of Ash

I liked this series over all, this was a big book and does explain all the characters and does finish nicely, yet I found it wordy at times.

An absolutely phenomenal series, and such a well written ending. Though the start was a bit slow, this emotional rollercoaster was such an amazing ending to the Throne of Glass series. Manon is still my favourite. I loved the plot and how things ended, the final battle wasn't just a fight but a full on war. I loved this series and I'm so sad I've now finished all of SJM's current books, I absolutely cannot express my love for her writing.

Holy cow! The conclusion of the series has left me with a book hangover! The emotional rollarcoaster that still has me in a chokehold even though it's over. This was both heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time with a well deserved ending. You can barely catch your breath as you root for your favorite characters and hope they will be spared. 5/5!!

Bk12 of February & Bk2 of #20in4 #readathon is done! At almost 1,000 pages, the 7th & final TOG book is packed full of action, characters & magic. Bringing Aelin & all her allies into a last cataclysmic battle in Terrasen with a few favourites not surviving😢, it‘s a worthy end to the series. #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #ChunksterChallenge #LitsyAtoZ2022 #PennyPerPage #KickTheSlump #Pageathon #FinishingTheSeries

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫This book is an emotional roller coaster, and at over 980 pages, it has a lot of opportunities for you to be to be stressed, sad, surprised, excited, etc.
Maas does an incredible job wrapping up so many story lines. There‘s *a lot* of fighting & feeling like all is lost, which gets a bit wearing. But overall it‘s a wonderful ending to a great series.

Such a bittersweet thing to finish a series you love. The Throne of Glass series has easily become one of my favorites and I‘m sad it‘s come to an end after 2 months. I absolutely loved these books! This one especially had me crying tears of sadness and joy. HIGHLY recommend #throneofglass #sjm #tog

Book #28: Seven weeks later and I can‘t believe I‘m done with this series. It took me a while to get through this last one because I didn‘t feel as much of a sense of urgency to finish it. Not sure if it‘s because I didn‘t want it to end or it felt like this book was dragging things out a bit. I just have mixed emotions about this final book. Still not over the Thirteen.

Cheshirecat913 Yes, the thirteen got to me too. And Asterin's back story! 😭 1y

One of the most fantastic conclusions! I am just so so happy with this book. I cried, I screamed, I raged, and I smiled, this finale had everything I could‘ve asked for. Seeing Aelin‘s story finally come to a close is definitely the highlight of my year. I just loved the friendships, the loyalty, the BATTLES, and most importantly, the twists. So many unexpected turns, so many pieces just perfectly fitting together.(continues in comments)

Endowarrior21 I know this series hasn‘t been for every one but it will always be one I hold near and dear to my heart. I‘m so happy and my love for this has grown immensely. 2y

I finished the Throne of Glass series. I took my time with this final book, partly because I wanted it to last, and partly because it's hard to see the words when the tears won't stop. This is one of those stories that works its way into your heart and lives there forever. Thank you SJM.

Just finished Tower of Dawn. I was not thrilled when I realized it was from Chaol/Nesryn's perspectives. I love Chaol, but with the way Empire of Storms left off I was DESPERATE to know what was going to happen. Having finished (while ugly crying), I just loved it so much. It was necessary and beautiful and the way SJM has intertwined all of these people is so engaging. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Now onto Kingdom of Ash, to finish off the series.

I'm sorry I can't!!
I had such high expectations for this book. But except for useless and lengthy descriptions, this book had nothing. I'll finish it some other time when I have more patience, but for now, I'm bailing on this one. How can someone ruin such a good plot is beyond me. I'm seriously disappointed. I'll just read the summary on the net. Atleast it will be shorter than this Bible.

Well!! Finally! I have been reading this series (starting and stopping) for a long time.
Kingdom of Ash= overall a pick. In some ways it ended how I expected it too, but there were still lots of surprises. Overall I enjoyed this series WAY more than I anticipated. ACOTAR series owns my HEART, this wasn‘t as good as that imo but still EXTREMELY enjoyable!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️/5
Tower of dawn= so/so. It took a different direction.

The end of a series I‘ve been reading for nearly 6 years and I‘m kind of sad but also very much not. The end was good though expected. It took me forever to read this book because it‘s 980 pages and half of those felt like empty words but they happy ending made it worth it I guess. I‘ll always love Aelin and Rowan and her court and I‘m glad I finally took the time and effort into toting this book around and finishing it, it was worth it.
