This book was fun, but it was so cheesy (especially the romance) that it was funny- which probably wasn‘t the author‘s intention. 😂🤷♀️
Overall, if you‘re looking for a YA read for spooky season, then check out this book. There‘s witchcraft, zombie girls, and a creepy old abandoned house. What more could you want?

Just finished this book on audio! I really enjoyed the narrator and how the story unfolded. It had fun characters and it did keep me guessing. Oh and it counts for 2 entries of #ScaryScavengerHunt as it has both a witch 🧙♀️ AND zombies 🧟♀️

After seeing the cover of this book, I didn‘t need to read anything about it to know I would love it.
This is the best worst book I've ever read. A zombie murder mystery with witches and a good first half, but then things start progressing from absurd to downright hilarious. I actually laughed out loud during the last seven-ish chapters which were so comical I thought I was reading a parody. I'm not even pissed for wasting my time on this because it was comedy gold, though none of the author's intentional attempts at humor worked.
1/5 🌟
Please steer clear of this inconsistent, poorly written, disappointing train wreck. Yet another half way decent idea riddled with multiple points of failed execution and dry characters. Some parts did not make sense and the story would have been better if these parts were believable. Should be a one star, but gave two stars for idea and effort. Too much sarcasm, too little passion.
Loved this funny zombie-ish audiobook. It was definitely a fun read.
Thank you so much @VanChocStrawberry for this lovely package. I‘m blown away by your generosity and thoughtfulness. You‘re so sweet. I love it all. I really needed that pick me up (it was my birthday this week and it fell on its face) also you wrapped everything beautifully. The postcards for me to send you in each book also an amazing idea which I might steal for future swaps. #summersantagoespostal

This book made me laugh so many times. Thanks for choosing it @gibblr!
I'll be sending it on soon. :)

Surprisingly cute and dark and tons of fun. This is the kind of YA I can get behind. It's clever and original and real (as real as a book about zombie teenagers can be) without being chokingly angsty. I definitely recommend it.
Happy St. Patty‘s Day everyone! I don‘t do beer, so here‘s my glass of wine. I‘m behind on my March reads in general, especially this book for my #LMPBC. Enjoy what‘s left of your Sunday, Littens!! @IheartYA I wanted you to know I received the book the other day 😁
Magic, zombies, murder, high school drama....what more could you want? The characters are pretty relatable and all the small Hocus Pocus references made me so happy. I definitely recommend it.
Zombie teen girls hunting down their killer is obviously gonna be a fun time. This was an enjoyable, fresh take on the (very tired) zombie trend. Loved that the girls were still teen girls in every way & acted just as they did when alive. Mila is a good character overall — having a fat brown girl into Wicca was really fun, tho at times she felt overly & pointedly brusque. Also the “reveal” felt too random & unexplained. But def a fun read! 3/5 ⭐️

I really need a damn escape from my garbage reality right now and I think a book about teens raising each other from the dead sounds 💯 #nowreading

This was our book club book this month and I was nervous because it was my pick and I wasn‘t sure what to expect. This really has so many strong themes on friendship and taking full claim on who you are. It also has some great points on religion that I found respectful and refreshing. I am a big fan of respecting all religion and seeing the common bonds of faith. And all the 90s gems hidden throughout were pretty awesome. ❤️❤️❤️
I love this book too much. Wondering how much sleep I'm going to get tonight. Lol.
I've got so many books on my TBR, but #Readingglasses made this one sound so awesome it's got to be next. :)
This book was a lot deeper and emotional than I expected. Are some of the plot events unrealistic? Sure. But then again this book starts off with a teenage Wiccan reanimating her dead classmates. But between the crazy shenanigans there was some good discussion on how things aren‘t always what you think they are.
Today I got a chance to quietly eat my lunch and finish this book. I really enjoyed this book. It highlights all that weird stuff that happens in high school. What teens do to be or stay popular, cliques and all the results of those things. Mila brings her friend, Riley back from the dead to find Riley‘s killer and accidentally brings back two other high school girls, that had thought to have committed suicide a few weeks before Riley‘s death.
Snuggles with the beast after a long day. Car nearly died and talks with a doctor. Nigel and books are so nice to relax with (even when he is snoring) Still really enjoying Undead Girl Gang. It really reminds me how much I felt so uncomfortable in high school. I was an outsider in a small town school. I have no idea what I would have done with witchy powers 🤔 #dogsoflitsy
Yesterday I thought I had fought off a migraine only to have it hit me today with a vengeance. Stayed home and rested. 2pm it finally lifted and I jumped into this book. Almost halfway through and enjoying it so much! Also enjoying a tea my Dad and StepMom brought back for me from South Carolina. Also I want all the enamel pins on this cover!
I liked it. But I thought it was a little obvious on the who dunnit part. I wouldn't mind more books like this where the magic seems interesting and dark but isn't shown in a completely negative light. Wicca positive!
This didn't even get mildly interesting until the 1/4 mark. And then it was sort of good. Faint praise.
My second #newyearwhodis recommendation from @LauraJ was quick and fun read that I really enjoyed! When Mila‘s best friend, Riley, as well as two of the most popular girls from school die, Mila sets out to prove that their deaths weren‘t suicides. This concept has been overdone in YA in recent years, but Anderson puts a witchy spin on it which elevates the book into something incredibly entertaining.
Thumbs up on this one! A bit more gruesome than I expected (I mean it's called *Undead* Girl Gang), but I LOVE the main character 😍 and this cover!!
✨
@JoScho thank you so much for such a thoughtful swap! I love everything (and treats for Gansey always melts my heart) and appreciate you! #stuffedstockingswap #sss @Avanders
This was a good listen. I wanted to be a witch when I was in high school so that aspect was appealing. I also didn‘t have a lot of friends. If you like YA and some magic with your high school angst, this is for you! #diversereads #readwomen
Nothing too profound here, but an entertaining and fun read, none the less!
I really liked the humor of the first chapters and felt immediately engrossed in the story, but that feeling wained as I kept listening. Whether that was due to the story, the fact it was an audiobook, or the bit of a reading slump I am in, I am not sure. Regardless, I liked it, but didn't love it.
And cheers for the wonderful representation with a fat, latina protagonist who is all for body positivity.
This is my gift from my All Hallow‘s Read book exchange partner from the “Buffering the Vampire Slayer” Patreon Facebook group! I have been wanting to read this and I am SO excited to have it! 🧟♀️
I‘m really glad I read/listened to this book. I‘d have done a couple of things differently, but this was absolutely polished enough to get some decent quality YA witchy fic out in the world.
Really fun and compelling! I just couldn‘t stop reading until I found out who killed them. But I also really liked the focus on female friendship, and middle age biker witches!
Wow! My #AllHallowsReadSwap was AMAZING! Thank you so much @Chrissyreadit !!! I actually opened this before work this morning but I had to rush off and haven‘t sat down alone since then. But I‘ve been excited about it ALL DAY. These specialty popcorns are so cool, I cannot wait to eat them. I‘m also super excited for the books! The tagged one is one I‘ve been wanting to read FOREVER. I‘m genuinely excited about every single thing in this package!
