💙💙💙💙 I am trash for a good Christina Lauren book 😄
⭐️⭐️ - Not the book for me. I thought I‘d pick up a Christina Lauren book as a quick, fun, light summer read, but I was left disappointed. I thought the plot was mediocre, the romance was ‘meh‘, and the storyline felt disjointed. Another case of me finishing it just to see what happens (even though you could have easily guessed the ending).

That's all folks! If I don't like it by 57% in, I'm not suddenly going to start loving it! Just not my cup of tea. Not clever, hot, sexy, or funny. Bleh.
This is a read of convenience. I came across a recommendation for the author (writing duo) and this was immediately available. Because my main read at the moment is instructive (vs. entertaining), I didn't want to listen to it in the wee hours of the morning when I was hoping to fall right back to sleep. So, I started this one. So far, I'm not the least bit invested or impressed. I may or may not finish.
Very late check in post. I didn‘t meet my walking goal, as my foot was hurting the second half of the week, but it‘s better now and I‘ve gotten 5 miles in this weekend. Here‘s going on to week 4!
Tagged book is what I‘m reading now.
Christina Lauren is a hit or miss for me. Some books are incredibly nuanced and poignant. Others can be a little convoluted and unnecessary. Roomies, however, was kind of a mixture. It‘s got an interesting romance trope (fake marriage of convenience), a hot, Irish street musician, and a reference to Lin-Manuel Miranda. The steamy scenes and sexual tension were 🔥, but the plot was just clunky and weird.
Every once in a while, I like reading love stories. I really enjoyed ROOMIES. There was more to the story than just romance. We get to read about their fears, their family and their backgrounds.
I really recommended Christina Lauren's books if you want to read, fun and cute fluffy adult romance.
So many library books came in at once but going for the easy to read romance first!
Eh, I really wanted to like this book. However, as the plot continued to unfold I found it to be a predictable and cliched romance that left me disappointed. It wasn't awful, but simply unimpressive. If you are a huge fan of romance and light hearted stories, you may enjoy it. But it wasn't my cup of tea.
@EH2018 Erika!!!!!!!!!! How so very very thoughtful of you!!!! This book looks so good and I absolutely ADORE the Harry Potter Book Sleeve!!! It‘s the first one that I have ever gotten! I‘m sooo happy!!! Thank you thank you thank you for thinking of me! What a wonderful surprise! You are such a great Litsy friend and I am so glad we have got to know one another this year! I‘m looking forward to another year of #Litsyfun with you!Merry Christmas!🎄
A pretty standard rom com set in NYC, which was exactly what I was looking for! Marriage of convenience (for immigration)! Broadway musicals! Sex-positive 25-year-old writer heroine! A swoon-worthy Irish musician hero! Gay uncles! I am realizing the fake relationship trope definitely does it for me. My only complaint is that the moment of them finally getting physical / aka dropping the pretense of the fake relationship was a bit anti-climatic.
This book (looking a bit rough since it was a discard from my library that I thought could survive one more read) is great! Just the type of light rom com I was looking for! I'm glad I picked this up, as I'd read another one by this author and didn't really like it. #Romantsy
Cute, fun, easy read by Christina Lauren. The characters were fleshed out a little more than most of the books in this genre, but I think the author(s) hit her stride with Josh & Hazel‘s Guide to Not Dating. Enjoyed the foray into the NYC world of the arts!
I‘m glad I read it, and I would recommend for a light romp, through some of the plot points were not my favorite.
I think I would read anything written by Christina Lauren - the phonebook, the ingredients list on the side of the cereal box, a random grocery list ... anything. And that‘s saying a lot.
This was my 1, 2, 3 maybe 4th Christina Lauren I‘m so many weeks. I think I would rate it in 4th place. It was excellent but not as steamy as Beautiful Stranger or as adorable as Josh/Hazel. There‘s the bar ladies!
Up next, I have The House! Vintage!
I thought the beginning was a bit slow, but I soon got hooked and couldn't put it down. This is an adorable NYC rom-com. Holland and Calvin get married so that Calvin can work legally in the US on a Broadway project, but Holland may have married Calvin for other reasons. The end was a bit unsatisfying after a great build-up, but it was overall very enjoyable.
I liked this one, but didn‘t love it-prob my least fav Christina Lauren. Most of the relationship issues started from Holland not communicating with Calvin & assuming he wasn‘t into her because she wasn‘t good enough. There are already way too many weak & meek female characters w/ low self-esteem, & I don‘t want to read about that. However, I appreciated that she eventually found herself without anyone else supporting her.
Lots of sexy moments!
I fell in love with Love and Other Words by: Christina Lauren and I can‘t wait to dive into Roomies while I‘m eagerly anticipating the release of Josh and Hazels Guide to Not Dating which release early September.

A charming New Adult Contemporary romance featuring a girl without purpose who has a crush on a street musician. I can‘t say that I felt any chemistry/heat btw the 2 protags and I found one of the misunderstandings that they had to work through completely implausible but overall it had it‘s LOL moments and it‘s rumored that the movie options have been picked up.
Rating this a Pick but for me personally, I may have outgrown Christina Lauren novels
Little late to the party but April‘s #BoundByHallowsBookClub pick was Roomies! This was my first time reading anything by Christina Lauren and it won‘t be my last. This was a cute story that overall was a quick and fun read. Giving it four stars. Very excited to hear its being adapted into a movie....who should play Calvin!? #BookClub #ChristinaLauren #Bookworm #ReadHarder
