pickFinally managed to down load an audio book. It‘s from the library and love how easy it is. I‘ll be doing it again. This book is based on some facts. Has made me want to know more about Charles Lindbergh and Anne Morrow and their children. I have Anne‘s book Gift from the sea. One copy with my name in it , I let go years ago. Found it again in an op shop far from home. I bought it as I felt it wanted me to keep it! 😊. @MrsMalaprop
RL book club book and I'm struggling. Really dislike that the main character is so passive. I know kowtowing to your husband was what was done back then but seriously? Half way through and I will finish it but grudgingly.
so-soI enjoy Benjamin's writing, but I found Anne to be frustrating in her submissiveness.

Got a chance to meet Melanie Benjamin tonight and it was a treat. Cant wait to read more from her since she writes interesting historical fiction. This year will be my year to not only expand my reading horizons but to hopefully meet authors.
bailedDid not make it through 1 chapter of this. The main character kept referring to her father as Daddy, the author introduced two characters within paragraphs of each other, one called Connie and the other called Con, and there was a glaring grammatical error that stopped me in my tracks. After looking at some reviews on Goodreads I decided to put the (e)book down and back away slowly.

Occasionally when we read Items or memories pop up from our childhood. To see Vicks VapoRub on the page brought back many memories of colds where mom spread Vicks under my nose and all seemed so much better.
This idea, thought, premise has launched a thousand, dare I say, a million books.

pickI enjoyed this compelling novelization of Anne Morrow Lindbergh's life more than I expected to. Like the rest of #GroupQ I hated pretty much everyone in this book, but for some reason, that didn't keep me from enjoying it. Did this make anyone else curious to read some of Anne's writing?

I feel like I have a love-hate relationship with this book. On the one hand the writing and story are great. The book is wonderfully written. On the other hand the characters anger me. I wanted to throw this book against the wall so many times. The thing I really like about this book is that it gave me the chance to examine exactly what about these people made me feel this way. #lpmbc #groupq
so-soThis was an okay book for me. I didn't know much of anything about the Lindbergs before reading this and it did make me want to look more into them-- which as M. Benjamin writes in the afterwards is what she hopes to inspire readers to do.
However, I have no love for Charles Lindberg after reading this. And while Anne Marrow Lindberg grew as a woman she was still frustrating to read about.
pickThe thing I love most about Melanie Benjamin's books is that it opens up a whole new world for me, always making me want to learn more about the real characters in her novels. The Aviator's Wife is no exception. The Lindberghs were very interesting people, with lives filled with both triumphs and tragedies. I can't wait to start reading some of Anne Lindbergh's books. Would highly recommend anything by Melanie Benjamin. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️#historicalfiction

To the paparazzi and the world, Anne and Charles Lindbergh were the epitome of #SmugMarrieds, but Anne definitely didn't feel smug about her marriage to the famous aviator.
pickThis book filled me with so many different emotions. From anger to frustration to sorrow. I was just frustrated reading this book!! I hated the way he treated his wife and kids. If you want a historical fiction I recommend it. Now I want to go read more about the Lindbergh's.

Waiting for the others in my book club to show up. I'll finish my Blue Moon 🍺but not this book. I simply couldn't get into it. The movie starring Jimmy Stewart as Lindbergh said it all for me.

#MarchintoReading One of my favorite novels #setinthe1920s The Aviator's Wife is a historical fiction about Ann Morrow, the wife of Charles Lindbergh. It follows their courtship, marriage and baffling kidnapping of their baby. Lots of fascinating information that had me googling tons of people and events. Highly recommend! Perfume Collector is a dual narrator/timeline; Grace in the 1950s and Eve 1920s. A little predictable but still ok.
