This book kept me interested throughout and was creepy at points but I did feel like something was missing from the story sadly.
Read for reading challenges.

And just like that I‘m posting the last review of spooky season. All Hallows was a fun book to read on Halloween night. It had all of the nostalgic Halloween vibes.
However, it did read a bit more like a domestic thriller than a horror I did enjoy it but by the time the monster came around I had lost a little bit of interest. Overall, I‘d probably give it about a three star rating. But it‘s definitely one to add to your list for next Halloween.
Luckily I wasn‘t reading this in a cabin in the woods. LOVED the way nothing was as it seems.
This book is unnerving, creepy, bloody, and perfect for the Halloween season.
New book review up! In this episode, I review the Halloween novel, All Hallows by Christopher Golden.

This was a great spooky book about a neighborhood that goes nuts on Halloween, and there are monsters 👻

I think this could have been a good book with a lot of editing. There were way too many characters it was hard to keep everyone straight. Also, too many things all going on at the same time. There was also way too much family drama that I couldn't care less about. I wanted a spooky horror book. Not subrurn family drama. Nothing started happening until about 60%, and the ending just left me wanting more. 2.5/5
Woohoo my #allhallowsread swap arrived from @Captivatedbybooks I can‘t wait until opening day! This also means that the package I received awhile back without a hashtag on the outside is my #modernwitchswap 🎉🎉 @BookwormAHN @MaleficentBookDragon
Okay, time for some updates. Finished this a few days ago. It wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be, but in a way, the writing reminded me of Grady Hendrix. Something ridiculous about it that makes you keep going.

Been listening to this one the past few days, and it's been a real challenge to try and catch all the word search words. I much prefer using the Kindle for that game. 🤣
I prefer to multi-task when I listen to my audiobooks, so a real challenge for sure. Wish me luck folks!

I'm about 120 pages in and I feel like I'm reading a Halloween episode of one of the soap operas my Grandma used to watch. Has anyone read this? Does it shift to an actual scary story? Or am I the only one not vibing with it?
This was nothing like what I was expecting but I really liked it! While it definitely had some terrifying moments it was more of a family/neighborhood drama with so much backstabbing and adultery and kids just running wild (which is something I remember well about the 80s 🤣). The horror even took a turn I wasn‘t expecting and the author didn‘t hold back from killing anyone they wanted regardless of how good, which I always enjoy. 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫
3.5 rounded up to 4.
I loved the sense of dread and the 80's nostalgia infused into this story that takes place over one Halloween night. It's stories like these though that make me wonder how we ever lived without cell phones, as they would have come in handy here!
I didn't love what seemed to be a story bloated with too many underdeveloped characters that, at times, I found difficult to keep track of.
That being said, it was a fun, creepy read.
If you‘re looking for a nostalgic Halloween, Goldin‘s latest standalone is set in 1984 Coventry, MA. Multiple perspectives across the neighborhood bring this community and spooky night to life. Pre-teens, teenagers & adults are all impacted by the last year the Barbarosa‘s host their annual Haunted Woods- & a few children seem to have goals of their own. Fast-paced & fun, this turned a winter afternoon back into fall for me with a high body count!
Update: #AllHallowsReadSwap box has been sent to @Readergrrl and I have received my box from @Beatlefan129 !!! I‘m so excited for Oct. 30!!!! 👻
