Covenant of Water is the book for my in-person book club in November. But I‘m reading Liane Moriarty‘s Three Wishes instead (#bookspin) because it seems easier and I‘m feeling fuzzy-brained.

Triplet sisters - two identical and one fraternal celebrating their 34th birthday, an impaled fork and subsequent call for an ambulance. That‘s the setup for this book to backtrack and explain how these sisters really feel about each other. I was all in for a book about sister love!

I love Liane Moriarty and I simply adored spending my weekend with Gemma, Lyn, and Cat. The book isn't perfect, and neither are the sisters!, but I enjoyed it.

After reading Big Little Lies and The Husband‘s Secret, my goal for this summer is to read all of Liane Moriarty‘s books!

I really like Liane Moriarty. Here she follows triplets Cat, Lyn, and Gemma as their lives weave in and out of one another‘s. It‘s a bit uneven and not her best book, but I think it‘s an enjoyable read. I read this to my mom, a chapter a day, and we both liked it.

Quick and entertaining

This was the author‘s first novel, written as part of a Master‘s degree, and it shows. There were extraneous elements that needed editing; the sisters‘ allergies kept coming up but had no impact on the storyline.

The more serious strands of the story were treated quite lightly and one in particular was quite glossed over ⬇️ (spoiler).

However, I enjoyed it nobetheless and I can see how the author has developed since this first book.

This was ok. Sometimes it was fun and gossipy and then it went to some dark places that felt kinda out of place. The sisters are likeable and feel real but it had way too many endings. #buddyread @squirrelbrain What are your thoughts Helen??

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the dynamics of the Kettle triplets. Cat was my favorite & I felt so bad for her! Theres comedy throughout the story and I laughed out loud a couple times. While a light read, there were still serious issues that Moriarty handles well. She did a good job, it being her first book! I wouldn‘t mind reading a follow-up featuring the Kettle triplets to see where they are now. It would make a good miniseries or movie!

Day 5 - This book is a “fluffy” read, but it came to me at the right time. I was going though a hard thing (vague so as not to spoil the plot) and a character also experienced this. I felt so seen and understood that it seemed the book was written just for me. ❤️

Started reading this today using randomlists.com (which is pretty fun if you haven‘t tried it) and I‘ve read maybe 3 of Liane Moriarty‘s books all of which I‘ve LOVED, this one is keeping me quite entertained so far. Hoped you guys are having a fun and safe Saturday. 🤓

If I could grant you three wishes for your #birthday @Eggs , the first would be for a better birthday dinner than Lyn, Cat, and Gemma had. #MarchMadness

I got a heap of these magazines and others in the Library‘s giveaway box on Saturday. This edition has an article about Liane Moriarty in it that I found very interesting. I got frustrated by the tagged book and in the article she says that on reflection she believes she made her readers wait too long for the twist in that book. I definitely agree! If you are a fan I recommend reading the article. In general it is an excellent Australian magazine.

I can never tell how a Moriarty book will end. Always a pleasant surprise. Well written with fantastic character development and unique format.

I really enjoyed reading about the triplets in this book. It was fascinating to see the relationships between them and how fierce their loyalty to each other was. And the narrator did a great job bringing them all to life.

After our walkies, Juno and I finished this awesome read. Just a great story about the sisters (triplets) and how different their lives were and the struggles they all faced. Might be a little soap opera-y but maybe that‘s what made it so addictive. A great summer read!

Happy Sunday! Coffee, donut holes (from a Keto bakery) and this great read that I‘m just flying through.

Overall a good book but not my favorite Moriarty book. Having just said that, I really need to start branching out more- maybe read something with a male protagonist for once- fun read about female triplets in their 30s and their everyday lives that get a little crazy. We should all be more like Jemma. O and based on some characters ,.. I‘m not excited for my girls to become teenagers, or to grow up at all for that matter.

Day 30 - #wish #literaryluck

Well written about 33 year-old Kettle triplets. Characters were well-developed. Lyn was very organized, Kat has marital problems and Gemma is free spirited and leaves relationships at the 6 month point. Deals mostly with their sibling rivalry. Filled with lots of laugh-out-loud moments and some serious situations. I look forward to reading another of her books. I recommend If you like chick-lit that‘s entertaining.

This was somewhere between a so-so and a pan for me. Part of the book was interesting and drew me in (triplets and their life!? What‘s not to love!?) but there was way too much of some things for me: drama, unrealistic storyline, too much romance focus, poor relationships and people being nasty to one another. It didn‘t leave me wanting more and I‘m disappointed because I‘ve heard great things about Liane Moriarty.

I strictly read thriller/ mystery books but liane moriarty is the exception to the rule. Each character is so charming, every page keeps you wanting more. I‘m also Australian so it‘s so nice having little references that I understand, like places I‘ve been or footy team colors I actually know. a nice and welcoming change from the hundreds of American books I read. 3 wishes is one of her cuter books, and is such a nice easy read

This is one of my Brain Candy authors. You know, where you‘re engaged and entertained but if your mind wanders for a paragraph or two, you won‘t miss much. Decent writing, but you won‘t walk away enlightened. But you‘ll be satisfied, at least until the sugar wears off...🍭🍫🍭

I'm loving every book by Moriarty!! This one is about triplet girls who are in certain ways alike but in other ways completely unique. One of my favorite techniques the author uses is to give us the POV of strangers witnessing the triplets from when they were babies to women in their thirties. Great combination of drama and humor.

I really love this author, but this one just didn‘t do anything for me. The sisters were super annoying and the story was old to me. I felt like it lacked depth and really was a fluff piece. But, it was quick moving and came together in the end.

An interesting group of #sisters in this book, quite a lot more going on than it seems at first! Sibling rivalry at its best.

Just finished. I think I've read all of her books. This one is not quite 3⭐. He other books were much better. This one was very readable, just nothing special.

Liane writes wonderful characters. While the plot of this book was not stellar, the characters keep you coming back for more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2: This was Lianes debut novel and it was fun and perfect for summer. Triplets celebrating their birthday and the paths their lives took.
