Dove into this book without reading the description- just knowing it was a big hit at the moment. After a few chapters I too was sucked into the hype, enjoying the story of this amazing little girl on her own in the marsh. This book will make you want grits and biscuits!!

This book went down a path I was not expecting but the characters felt so authentic and the plot was amusing.

Cool relatively short read about a time that I know very little about, the 1700‘s after 1776. No idea that America was getting bossed around in the oceans, and I like that this book refers to lots of journals to paint a picture of what people were like 200 years ago. My favorite part is when they talk about the Philadelphia (the ship)

I enjoyed reading this fantasy novel with a really unique take on a future world where humans are separated into castes based on their abilities. Some intense moments and cool storytelling jumping between 3 women across chapters. Excited to read the next one!

Three Wishes | Liane Moriarty

Overall a good book but not my favorite Moriarty book. Having just said that, I really need to start branching out more- maybe read something with a male protagonist for once- fun read about female triplets in their 30s and their everyday lives that get a little crazy. We should all be more like Jemma. O and based on some characters ,.. I‘m not excited for my girls to become teenagers, or to grow up at all for that matter.

Loved reading this - a science fiction type book that forces you to think some troubling ideas.. am I living my best life? Is there a version of me that if he were to replace me, my wife and kids would like him more ? Add in suspense and a jaw dropping last chunk of the book- and hold your loved ones close!

Hag-Seed | Margaret Atwood

This was fun to read because it‘s very different from my usual books - I hardly know any Shakespeare I studied one book in high school “there‘s something rotten in the state of Denmark” but never knew what the tempest was about. The author made a really creative retelling that was in no way what I was expecting. The very end of the book briefly explains the actual play where you can see all the cool parallels.

Great book! Scares the hell out of me regarding what it will be like when kids are old enough for grade school and dealing with other parents. Hilarious the way she has small incidents snowball into huge dramas by word of mouth. Author is pro at storytelling making this one a quick page turner.

Case Histories: A Novel | Kate Atkinson

Really cool story with multiple crimes mysteries spread out over long period and same detective working through them all at present day. You get to hear each character‘s thoughts and insecurities and Jackson the detective is the best one. Maybe wouldn‘t jump into this one if you have little girls without knowing what it‘s about.

Quick read. Really liked reading about each characters‘ relationships in their lives. Fun characters and relatable characters and really cool storytelling, jumping back and forth between present day and “day of the barbecue”

Kept me curious enough to finish - really dark in some spots reading about how the family is murdered and how hard their lives were before and after. I liked gone girl way better and recommend people try her other books first. Favorite part was... When she figures out who Polly is.
