I waited on hold for this book for 6 months. Time to dive in. Putting aside my other read (A Beautiful Mind-- 115 pages into that.) for now

This was an awesome read for me!
I am now also down the rabbit hole because I now listen to her podcast, Girls Next Level and have been watching GND.
I was a little too young to watch GND when it aired live... but also, Kendra is only 5 years older than me, so 🤷♀️
Super enjoyable read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Loved this book! The beginning was slow but picked up quickly. I watched GND growing up and recently listened to the Girls Next Level podcast with Holly and Bridget.
This book is a great look into what Holly went through before, during, and after mansion life.
22 - This is a re-read, I bought it in 2015 and absolutely devoured it! After coming out of my own tumultuous, emotionally abusive relationship I could empathize in a way with how Holly was feeling while she was with Hef and living on the mansion. The book ends on a hopeful note, that we are resilient and can come through things stronger and wiser!
I hadn't planned to read this at all... I was never really interested in Girls Next Door or Holly's World. But a friend brought it to my attention and something intrigued me. It's definitely interesting hearing Holly's take on her own actions through her interesting life choices. #12-2022
⭐️⭐️⭐️ I expected this to be pure brain candy, and it often is, but damn, it‘s juicier than a 2000s Playmate in a velour track suit! True to “reality” tv, things are not always how they appear. The girlfriend politics were particularly fascinating. What a bizarre life choice! Holly does not sugarcoat, but of course, this is all through her eyes. Take it as you will. An entertaining memoir for those who vegged on Girls Next Door like I did.
The Playboy zeitgeist was in full swing when Holly was Hef‘s girlfriend and starred on The Girls Next Door. I loved hearing about the drama at the Mansion before the cameras showed up. She reflects on how manipulated she was, and the bad business and personal decisions she made. MUCH tea is spilled!
She talks about her post-Playboy life: DWTS, Peep Show, filming Holly‘s World, and the birth of her daughter, but it is mostly about life with Hef.
I spun my Wheel of Rereads with just the nonfiction ones and got this. I have a migraine tonight, and Holly‘s voice is actually working for me! Kinda surprised by that. 🤷🏻♀️
It‘s kind of the perfect celebrity memoir for me…so much tea is spilled. Either have a super interesting life, be really funny, or spill the tea…but really tea is my fav!
Shocking or not so shocking from the book .....
$25,000 ??? For the master bedroom?? He paid rent for the bedrooms???
I didn‘t know much about the playboy mansion or Hugh Hefner before this and honestly I don‘t even care what his side of the story may be. This is Holly‘s story about her time there and some time after and I am glad to have read this with a few glasses of wine in the sunshine.
The Girls Next Door recently came to Amazon Prime and gave me major mid-00s nostalgia, so it was perfect when Holly‘s memoir showed up in the latest audible sale. This is just pure fun gossipy fluff but interesting nevertheless. She definitely spills the tea on her time in the mansion, which wasn‘t as fun as TV made it look. Hef was absolutely as manipulative and sleazy as one would expect. #audiobook
Little bit of an odd choice for #internationalwomensday, but y‘all know I love a juicy memoir now and again. 🐰
I loved this book. I have always found the playboy life fascinating. I watched the show when it aired too and everything in the book was pretty surprising to me. But I love holly and have followed her career since then.
A little light reading tonight after finishing “The Saturday Night Ghost Club” (a fantastic read, btw). I don‘t know why, but I‘ve always found the whole Playboy thing fascinating. ...And equal parts horrifying. Like a pink, fuzzy train-wreck...
1. Not as much as I should. 2. More fiction about 80:20. 3. Memoirs and biographies. 4. Wild by Cheryl Strayed.
This book just fascinates me ...my version of a beach read with out actually going to the beach because I'm not an out of doors person 😂😂😂🙄
Overall this was enjoyable and actually quite interesting at times! Like I said before, I‘d always had a soft spot for Holly, and it was eye opening to see what her life and experience was really like. I appreciate how clear-eyed she is about everything, including her own mistakes and naïveté. I did think she spent too much time on how awful some others were and def seemed to exaggerate some of her recollections. But still a fun light read. 3/5 ⭐️
#FlashbackFriday ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Five stars for a book by a former Playboy bunny? Why, yes!
I give books five stars if I love them enough to reread them. While I‘ve never actually read it, I‘ve listened to the book multiple times on Audible. Holly also narrates, so that‘s a plus!
This is isn‘t a book of literary greatness, but she keeps you engaged and I love the Alice in Wonderland quotes throughout.
I have never had interest in the “watch some random people live their lives” type of reality TV ... but I watched every episode of The Girls Next Door when it first ran, not because of Hefner who was a pig and an asshole, but because I had a soft spot for Holly. She seemed so kind and sweet and was obviously smart and sharp. I read an interview with her before this came out and it made me want to hear her actual reality vs. the façade #nowreading
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: if you liked the tv show, girls next door then you‘ll love Holly‘s Memoir. It was scandalous and appreciate her candor. #Memoir #Playboy #NonFiction
I liked it for all the juicy details but it was just so-so
Really wish I brought my book. Husband having a gall bladder issue and I‘m alone while tests are done.
The playboy mansion 🐰 and Hugh Hefner are certainly symbols of #americanmoney. I read this for a book club a couple of years ago and while it had some entertaining insights into living in the mansion and the life of a playboy bunny, the writing was atrocious. #aprella #pinkcover #aprilbookishmadness
Just being a trashy mctrasherson and reading this tell-all by one of the Girls Next Door. She‘s definitely dishing out the goods.
Took me a while to get through this but I really enjoyed it! Some of the anecdotes are tough to read but it gives a different perspective on fame and what it can do to people psychologically.
1️⃣ Full House and Saved by the Bell.
2️⃣ love a good dishy memoir! see the tagged book.
3️⃣ not a big fan of sushi.
4️⃣ the Olympics, especially figure skating!
5️⃣ 💖💖💖 #friyayintro @jesshowbooks
A true could not put it down book! Fascinating to read her story and get an inside scoop on the Playboy mansion!! It was eye opening especially after being an avid watcher of the girls next door
I honestly can‘t put this book down
#SeptemBowie #day16 #Fame These days, the most famous (or infamous!) are reality tv stars, like Holly Madison. Hugh Hefners No1 girlfriend for years, she posed for Playboy, made a reality show with two other "girlfriends" and generally became a complete famewhore, only later eclipsed by the likes of Kim Kardashian & family. That she finally grew up and got herself out of that soul sucking lifestyle does her credit, but it took her awhile to wake up.
I have gone back down the TBR Rabbit Hole!!

#Characters2017 #day27 #Scrooge Turns out Hugh Hefner is a bit of a Scrooge.According to Holly Madison's memoir about her time at the playboy mansion as Hefners No1 girlfriend,he's a complete tightarse with his money, each girl has an allowance according to her place in the house, the house itself is falling into disrepair because he won't spend money on it & that aura of wealth & debauchery is all fake. They were not happy when she published this.
This book was gossipy in a good way. Something light before I dive into the last two Harry Potter books and shed all the tears.
I plan on finishing this tomorrow because I can't wait to start The Half Blood Prince. I am enjoying my Harry Potter reread so much, two to go.
And now for something completely different. 🤔
Ehhh; I think I'm done with this one. I'm 2 hours in, and growing increasingly irritated with Madison's prissy voice, and clueless pot-calling-kettles-black attitude.
Thought I'd give this a try...have to be honest tho, I don't have high hopes.
this was just the perfect dishy, trashy read I needed for spring break. not only was it an interesting (and rather frightening at times) peek at life in the infamous Playboy Mansion, it was also a good behind-the scenes look at the machinations of "candid" reality tv. I admired Holly's determination and the way she stood up for herself after leaving the mansion. #recommendsday
I loved this book! I completely see her side and don't think it's right for anyone to judge her for what she did. No one is perfect, everyone has made mistakes. I respect that she was so honest about her time there and how she picked herself up and started over. It takes courage to do what she did.
Just a few of my #candycolouredcovers. Serendipitously, the quilt just happened to match almost perfectly. 😊 #feistyfeb
Shout out to @downtherabbithole looking forward to seeing what I have in store. Early happy #cupidgoespostal !
Former girlfriend of Hollywood's most notorious bachelor, Hugh Hefner. Holly Madison describes how life at the playboy mansion went from a fairy tale of A-list celebrity parties to an oppressive regime of strict rules, bitchy backstabbing amongst the bunnies, and loss of identity.
Thanks Miami for being so lovely! I've been away on a work trip and caught this gorgeous sunrise yesterday while sitting on the deck listening to my audio book.

So...I received an email from Etsy, which in itself is not unusual. Right now they're all about organization blah blah blah. I opened the latest email and saw a picture of planners. I clicked. I surfed. And then I thought...reading journal pages, let's see what's out there. Thirty minutes later I come up for air and realize I do not need to buy 30 different planner pages. Maybe one or two, but not 30. The Internet is not my friend today. Or is it?
I feel like this is going to be really good or really bad...
#novemberland #day25 #pink Just a few of the pink cover books in my library. I honestly thought I'd have trouble with this one but turns out I have way more than I expected. Diverse too, from horror to memoir, YA romance to classics & scifi/fantasy. And I could've added more to this stack as well. Not a huge fan of pink at all, but I must admit, they look pretty. #pinkisthenewblack #notjustforgirls
This book is what it is. It's not a memoir where you necessarily come away with any life lessons- other than don't date possessive men- but it was a really fun, enjoyable read. I always liked Holly on the Girls Next Door, and I really enjoyed reading about her post mansion life. I'd recommend it if you're a fan of any of her TV shows.
Gee, I don't know why, but I get the impression Holly and Kendra didn't get along very well... 😂 Have to admit, this book is really taking away some of my Thanksgiving/late pregnancy stress. I'm kind of loving it in a guilty pleasure way.
