The main thing I‘ve heard about this book in reviews is that the first half is wonderful and the second half gets messy and incongruous and confusing. But it has a super intriguing synopsis and a 4.01 average rating on Goodreads, so I‘m gonna take the chance and see where I end up. #nowreading

Dominicana: A Novel | Angie Cruz

I love that this cover is so simple and yet has these couple little details that draw your eye. Also I do love me a book about a woman escaping a shitty dude, and I‘ve heard many rave reviews about it. #nowreading

Firefly Lane | Kristin Hannah

I‘ve only read one of Kristin Hannah‘s books (The Nightingale, of course) and I‘ve been meaning to pick up another ever since. This one sounds very promising—I do love a good “complex female friendship over many years” story! #nowreading

I‘m not a big short story reader, but I‘ve found a few amazing collections over the years, and this one is beloved by both @Liberty and @thereadingwomen so I have a good feeling about it ☺️ #nowreading

A lovely online friend sent me an extra ARC she had for this one, and it sounds great. I‘m especially drawn to the fact that it‘s a mystery where the main character is a civil lawyer instead of a detective or something. And it‘s Australian, and it seems like we‘re getting a lot of terrific literature out of Australia lately! #nowreading

Lizpixie I loved this one. Read it a few weeks ago👍 2w

The Bees: A Novel | Laline Paull
post image

This book is not just about bees. It‘s told from the perspective of a bee. Third-apian perspective. I‘m so here for it because 1) bees are a cute and fun aesthetic, & 2) like most people, I read about bees dying off and what it portends for humans and I‘m like ARE YOU OKAY BEE CAN I HELP YOU WHAT DO YOU NEED LET ME CARE FOR YOU. So I wanna read this bee book to expand my bee empathy even more. Plus it sounds fucking fascinating. 🐝🐝🐝 #nowreading

Texreader My dad was a hobby beekeeper and so I grew up around bees and love them. I hope to be a beekeeper when I retire. 2w

Birthday: A Novel | Meredith Russo

I really liked Meredith Russo‘s first book, and have heard nothing but wonderful things about this one. And of course my queer ass had to go for this U.K. paperback edition with the rainbow edges 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 #nowreading

Among people I follow on Instagram and Booktube, the ratings really run the gamut for this one, but it involves magic, books, and a “mysterious demonic servant,” so it sounds promising to me! 🔮📚😈 #nowreading

alisonrose This is the Owlcrate exclusive edition, in case you were wondering about the pretty purple cover, which I LOVE. 3w
