I had so much fun with this one!! Mike Rowe is an exceptional storyteller. I am not sure I would have enjoyed The Way I Heard It nearly as much if I had not chosen audio or if anyone but Mike read it. But I chose wisely and was very entertained!☺️
A collection of 35 stories, mysteries, memories… some funny, a few serious, all very interesting.

Go and Do Likewise, written by Amy DiMarcangelo, is the missions book I have been waiting for. This is the book written for those looking to do “more” but are not exactly sure what that means or where to begin.

Book 2 in The Courtship of Nellie Fisher trilogy.
I loved the first book but let‘s see how book 2 holds. Personally, I struggle with too long, drawn out romances.

You know a book is a solid choice when you set your alarm 2 hours early, waking yourself on a weekend before the rest of your house is stirring, just so you can grab some quiet time to be with that book and a coffee.

I adored this middle-grade read from James DeMonaco (screenwriter: Precinct 13, The Purge). Jack Bomimble has a magical shadow and in this quick read he must learn to control it, know when to use it and learn how to accept being different. This book is quirky, fun, and full of zany characters!!

Another beautifully written, incredibly illustrated picture book for children young and old! 💛📚

My father got this for me for my birthday. I had mentioned it to him just once and so briefly. The fact that he listens and understands me so well is everything. 💛

This is probably the cutest thing ever!! I've adopted a few of the KonMari practices in the past but I've never been able to fully commit. I mean... there's no way I could ever purge my books. No. Way.

I can't believe this is due back at the library on Saturday and I've only just started reading it! That's ok! It's already off to a good start, so I'll probably finish it tonight! 🤞🏼Im getting ready for the sequel The Daybreak Bond!!

I picked up a copy of this beautifully illustrated picture book and adorable idea plushie for a birthday party.
I should've picked up one for my kiddo. It's so nice and the message is really important.

Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect in this retelling of Othello but it was really good!
New Boy takes place in the 70's in a very white, suburban Washington school. We follow a group of 6th graders as they confront blatant racism, bullying, jealousy, adolescence and ignorance over one school day.
New Boy was incredibly relevant and painfully sad - as it is supposed to be.

I loved the movie but I loved the book even more! And those first two pages... they are the best first two pages I've ever read.

I feel like I've been away forever! It's been at least a few weeks... I'm finally moved into my new home and I've gotten a lot of the unpacking started. My favorite spot is this little reading nook (just need the perfect lamp). I had it figured out even before I knew where the bed was going!
Can't wait to catch up and see what everyone's been reading!!

In three weeks I'll be visiting my dearest girlfriend to celebrate her 50th and my upcoming 40th. What better way to celebrate than to see Wicked?!

I seem to be fighting for time to cozy up with a book these days. I'm moving in less than two weeks (packing) and I have an energetic toddler.

YA + magic + 💕= happy me! So far, it's a sweet and fun read. I'm really enjoying it during my short reading allowances!

There is never a time where I am not reading this one...I will read Spoon River Anthology hundreds of times, dissecting every morsel. 💛📖💛 my absolute favorite.

An early gift for daddy, mostly because mommy couldn't wait... we do love our books in this house. Every night we read together as a family and I couldn't have found a better book for this Father's Day (weekend) read! We loved the story and the fantastic illustrations!!

thrift shop finds... I have a hard time passing up anything Maeve Binchy and have heard good things about The Rosie Project. I call this a win! ☺️

Trusting You and Other Lies by Nicole Williams is an enjoyable summer read written from the perspective of an almost–adult teen girl. Sweet, sometimes a little serious but never boring or too predictable... I found myself breezing through this book and enjoying every moment! If you enjoy YA, I highly recommend Trusting You and Other Lies.
Oh...and I adore the cover!

I scored some pretty nice finds at the local thrift shop! One in particular that I've been needing to read...

1. Always! I love a worn in book!
2. Coffee but I'd be happy with either
3. Fantasy - bonus points if I can be a mythical creature like an elf or fairy
4. Morning - my kiddo wears me out and I tend to crash in the evenings mid-read

I really wanted to like this one but I just could not get into it. I bailed about halfway through. I really tried but the characters and the writing style just did not jive for me... 😕

I'm in the process of packing up my entire house to move yet I still decide that this is the time to join a new book group. Ehhh... what can I say?! Priorities.
Anywho, this will be our first read and I'm super excited because this has been in my TBD pile for about two years!

I know I should be ironing those shirts but I much, much rather be reading. The shirts can wait!

I've been spending the better part of this week packing boxes and not much else. Blah! Tonight, I'm finally finding some time to cozy up with the pup and an #arc that I've been excited to check out. ... and despite the poor reviews I've seen on Goodreads, I'm really enjoying this one!

I've been meaning to read this one for so long that it doesn't even make sense. Well, I totally took advantage of today's Kindle deals and got a copy - so, no excuses! Pretty darn happy, right now!!

My #tbr pile just got a little heavier (virtually speaking!) with 2 new reads waiting for me on my NetGalley dash. I'm hoping to get some real reading time over the weekend!

My daughter is only 18 months old and she already has quite the library! This is something that brings me so much joy!
She absolutely loves her books, the pictures, and even trying to read to us! I can't wait to dig in to some of the bigger books on her shelf!
I love when I hear of other people reading to their children and planting the seed of the love to read!

I picked up this book solely based on all of the great reviews I read here and I was not disappointed! This is probably one of the best books I have read in a very long time. I laughed, cried, laughed again and then cried some more! I haven't read a book that has moved me this much in ages. I nearly forgot how great that feeling is. Now I need a drink to recover!

Super excited to have these two titles waiting for me in my NetGalley dash! I've got a ton of reading waiting in my ever growing #tbr pile but there's always room for more!!

I honestly can't wait for this to be released this fall, so I can gift it to some special people in my life - young and old. It really is that great.
This is one of the most original and fun children's books I've read in some time. I loved every single page and every illustration in all its detail.
