I find it really frustrating when I can‘t quite remember if I‘ve read a book before or just the blurb! The case was true with this one, I have definitely read it before 😂 but I hate stopping a book once I‘ve started so I persevered. At least I can‘t possibly forget reading a book twice, can I??
I guess it helps that I actually enjoy Paris‘ style!

cathysaid I've heard of SOME people (surely not *me*) who have checked out and read a library book and then less than a month later have bought the same book on Kindle. 😳 1mo
Nikki15 @cathysaid At least it‘s not just me 😂 1mo
eraderneely I forgot reading The Picture of Dorian Gray twice! And hated it every time 😂 It‘s why I eventually got Goodreads, so I could keep track of what I had already read. 1mo

This book kept my interest throughout, but it definitely wasn't the best book I've read. Mainly, Cass being a bit too paranoid for the average person when she is constantly thinking the murderer is making the silent calls. Plus, she seemed to be taking Jane's murder a little seriously. I'm sure I wouldn't be an emotional wreck if I met someone only once and they got murdered shortly after. All in all, this was an enjoyable read.

If you read and enjoyed Behind Closed Doors by this author you should give The Breakdown a try. Fast paced, this suspense filled psychological thriller was an addicting treat that kept me guessing until the end.

Plenty of suspense and drama, though a bit repetitive and predictable in places, and the characters sometimes seemed a bit flat. Fast read, and it continued to hold my interest.

I really liked this one by BA Paris. It was definitely full of suspense and got deep into my head while reading it. It had a superb twist to it and a really interesting plot. I definitely didn‘t figure the ending out in this one and would recommend if you like a good psychological thriller.

Amazing book! After I have put a book on my tbr and then read it, I do not go back to review what it is about. I go in blind. I did that with this book. The story was edgy and made me feel as if I were sinking into dementia with her. I have downloaded the other books by this author already. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Loric I loved Behind Closed Doors so cant wait to start this! Thanks for the update 10mo

I enjoyed the book by the end, but getting through the first 3/4 of it was tough. I know it‘s fiction but the author wrote the main character to be way more submissive and obsessive than I think anyone should be. The twist was good but not earth shattering. Ultimately I think the author spent too much time building it up for just a good but not great ending. It was between a pick and so-so.

One of the first mystery novels I've read. I really enjoyed how quickly the author gets you involved in the story! The middle dragged a bit for my personal preference but still a great read.

Paris brings nothing new to this genre, in fact, there was nothing overly shocking and Cass' inner dialogue was often repetitive. So why read this book? It is a page-turner and hooks you plain and simple. The novel is perfectly timed and flawlessly executed. Given the main character's paranoia and hysteria, the denouement could have been obvious and trite, but it wasn't because of the unreliable narrator—this was the perfect angle for the story.

A little bit predictable... and the pacing could have used improvement. Starts out with a loooong build up of an unreliable narrator and then takes a few quick twists in the last 1/4 but it kept me listening and I think I liked it better than either of her other books.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

The story starts out strong. I was thrust into the heart of a murder mystery almost immediately and that kept me turning the page.

I felt the book was entertaining, albeit predictable. While I understood who was responsible for what was happening very quickly, the why and the how the remained unknown and with that information out of my grasp, I could barely wait to get to the end.

suzie.reads I thought this was a bit of a let down after I'd read behind closed doors. Very predictable! 13mo

This was my first B.A. Paris book and I‘m so pissed I haven‘t read her work sooner. This was a great book! It was one where I thought I had it figured out and then thought the book was going into a different direction and then totally threw me off balance at the end. I felt so bad for Cass the majority of the book but she became an ass kicker at the end and that made me proud of her. This is definitely a book I would recommend to others. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Read this book on vacation and I got to read by the ocean!

This book was good although I didn‘t like it as much as Behind Closed Doors. The plot was really frustrating as a reader until finding out that things weren‘t exactly as they seemed. Overall a good mystery but I wish the author had gone into more detail of her future at the end. I don‘t like speculating what might happen in characters‘ futures.
