I‘ve been reading a lot lately, but I‘m consistently bad about posting on here! I‘ve been struggling to find a job, but I live a short short short walk away from the library so am there almost every day as I wait for people to call me back about a job, and as I await returning to school to study Culinary History.

Jerdencon Good luck with the job search! 5y

Today I was fired for the first time ever. I have to say it was not the most pleasant experience. I was unwilling to just go with the flow. I stubbornly had to fight the system and stand up for what I KNOW was/is right. And I ended up upsetting my boss who wouldn‘t even tell me he was upset. Instead he ignored me and then today told me I was insubordinate. Now I have all of the time in the world! Reading recommendations?

Do you ever buy a book and plan on reading it when you are flying, but your trip is still a few days a way, so now you have to practice insane amounts of self control to keep from starting the book before you leave? This is my struggle today. Bought this last night, then went out with friends so it wasn‘t tempting me. But I still don‘t leave until tomorrow... #lethalwhite #cantwaittostart

I have three more books I plan on adding to my #TBR for #24in48 and I won‘t be reading all of the Edgar Allen Poe book, but I do read bits and pieces of it every time 24in48 comes back around. T-Minus 21 minutes until go time!!

Jinjer I‘m confused. Some say it hasn‘t started yet. Some already reading. What‘s the deal? 6y
TheresaGivan @Jinjer It has to do with where people are at and what is midnight for them, or if they decided to start at the time the hosts start. For the hosts they start the challenge at midnight EST. I‘m going by that time. 6y

This book is excellent! It‘s not behind the scenes looks. It‘s more than eggos and Christmas lights. It‘s about all of the 80s inspiration, about the movies and shows and books and music referenced. Jinjer I don't get the hype over the eclipse. We've had them before haven't we?🤔 7y
TheresaGivan @Jinjer Yes but this one will be seen by the entire country, and its path of totality (when the moon completely covers the sun) cuts right across the country. The last time this happened was in 1918 and none of us are likely to be alive when it happens again. This doesn't happen often. I guess you have to like space sciencey stuff to really get into it. 7y
TheresaGivan I work in a space/science museum. So people that I deal with are particularly crazy.
