AllDebooks It's been a real struggle over the last few weeks with the riots here in the UK. There is so much hate and what makes it worse is it is perpetuated by msm. Wednesday made all the difference when so many people came out to peacefully protest and act as a safety barrier to protect asylum hotels, mosques etc. There is hope. There is more love in this world than hate. 1mo

Read4life Right now I‘m relaxing & will be reading after I scroll through Litsy. 🤓 I‘m going to be spending as much time with my daughter as possible since we bring her back to college mid next week. She has to be there a few weeks early for volleyball. We‘re doing brunch with my parents tomorrow. Have a great weekend!! 1mo

TheBookHippie I‘m crabby 🤣. Just worn out really. People exhaust me and people who can choose not to care, because of privilege, wear me out. On the other hand the joy of seeing your positive protestors over there (so lovely) and the Olympics and the joy of people rejuvenated about hope is giving me life. 1mo

AllDebooks @dabbe The hardest thing is having to delete people from social media who I've known for decades. I can't cope with the hate. 1mo

dabbe @AllDebooks #understood I actually deleted some of my cousins back when Obama was running for president because of all the horrific things they were posting about him and Black people in general. We haven't spoken since, but I'm okay with that and the riddance of toxicity. Sending you 🩶🖤🩶. 1mo

Catsandbooks @AllDebooks @dabbe the same thing happened with me during the 2016 election of having to remove people from social media because of the horrible things they were saying. A few years ago I deleted my Facebook because it was taking a toll on my mental health and I don't regret it one bit. You gotta do what's best for you ❤️ 1mo

1. I called myself CrabbyAbbe as a high school English teacher (my students LOVED it), so I almost named myself that, but Matt wanted me to get away from any negative talk about myself (even if in jest), so it's just dabbe for Denise Abbe. 🤷‍♀️
2. I've tried audiobooks, but I just can pay attention.
3. Book: DISSOLUTION by C.J. Sansom. 💙'ed it the 2nd time around, too!

Winter Lost | Patricia Briggs

Another good book, but you have to read the book before this to pick up on the plot threads. I didn‘t care for the time jumping, but it was only in short interludes so I guess that OK.
Mercy‘s brother shows up under a curse and she and Adam go to try to convince the power that cursed him to release him, which leads to a major Norse Myth inspired snowed-in mystery-ish.
4/5 dense but good-great characters, good plot, good world building.
