R. C. Sproul does a great job of concisely explaining the debates between Augustine & Pelagius and getting to the core of the issue.

This book was an assigned reading for one of my graphic design classes. Long story short: I am blown away by this book.

Kimzey I agree! I listened to it on audio and decided I liked it so much, I needed a print copy also. 1y

I didn‘t expect to like this book so much. Definitely an eye opener to our ignorance. #mustread

“An unbelieved truth can hurt a man much more than a lie.” 1:30 am, August 1, found the quote that describes the first half of my year, and bleeding on the pages.

8leagueboot I truly believe that this book may have saved my life. It came to me at the most important possible moment. I will love it always ❤️ 1y
OwenBanner Ah, yes, East of Eden. It‘s beautiful when a fictional novel speaks to you like scripture 1y

I must say that I am pleasantly surprised at Steinbeck‘s character development. It takes a good writer to be able to change a characters name 45% into the book and have the reader know who he‘s talking about.

I initially didn‘t want to buy this book, but this note made the decision for me, I had to have it as my own.

Bookishthoughts Wow. Did someone write that, or os it a copy of the author's note? 1y
mpensees Not an authors note, but an anonymous source. 1y
Whimsical.Curiosity I would've bought it myself. Wow. 😭 1y

Went to a gallery and this jewel of an art piece was standing there. It reminded me of Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. #wordsonfire

This year my friends were wondering what I wanted for my birthday, so I asked them to give me THEIR favorite book with a note in it for me. One of my friends gave me The Book Thief, and scattered notes throughout the whole book. All I can say is my heart was shattered by this beautiful work of written art. Read it!

Reggie That's awesome!!!! 2y

This book is my favorite book by Lewis right after Mere Christianity. He never ceases to blow my mind with his ability to dig deep into a subject.

Laura317 Not only dig deep, but write in a relatable way. 2y

It has been over 100 years since this book was first published and yet it has remained a fresh read, conquering its way into the hearts of new generations. A piece of my heart will always remain with Anne-girl.

Laura317 I only found Anne this year (I'm 53) and totally agree with your statement. She's a lovely soul. 2y

10/10. C. S. Lewis has something to say on every subject and is a master at explaining things seemingly unexplainable.
