Absolutely loved this book. It‘s the one that put Lisa Gardner on my Must Read list.
panI read Alone a while back and enjoyed it a lot but this early effort is fairly poor, sadly. The psychotic killer cop was hardly a new trope even then and why a woman on the run would turn to another brutal macho thug for protection is never satisfactorily explained.
bailedYa'll know I love me some Lisa Gardner, but for some reason I just cannot stay engaged with this one! The premise sounds great, a woman who helped convict her serial killer husband is now on the run and looking for training on how to protect herself after he escapes (presumably to get his revenge). The pacing just feels all over the place. And one of the main characters, JT, definitely gets on my nerves. Gonna throw in the towel for now 🤷🏽♀️

I had to take a break from #24in48 to at least get some of my books off the floor and on their new shelves! Not sorted ( which is bugging the perfectionist in me!) but gotta get that stopwatch off pause !! I also need to cook my ❤️husband some dinner as shelf payment! #bookishlife
Just dropped my daughter off early for volleyball practice and with the house so quiet thought I‘d get in some undisturbed reading time. I have the third book in the series and plan to read it for #mounttbr but before I can do that I had to get book 1 and 2 from the library to catch up. I just can‘t read a series out of order. #climbingmountvancouver
My talented husband has been diligently working on building a new bookshelf for our living room. I cannot wait to start filling this with books! He still has some work to do, including staining, but it looks amazing so far and much larger in person than the picture conveys. 🎉😍📚

#aprilamazingreads Starting late so catching up. Day 1 #surprising The Perfect Husband started my love affair with Lisa Gardner and that husband was far from perfect! Behind Her Eyes twisted once more than I thought it would.

My husband made me these bookshelves for my Christmas gift and installed them yesterday while I was at work. The wood is from my friend's sawmill. I love them!!!
